Naked Surprise High Neb loop.
Quad felt good to start with going uphill. Then after a few stops and starting to go downhill a bit more the pain became more acute again.

Ceilidhing at FazFest last night also brought it on. Probably unsurprisingly. It's a very camp feeling - causes me to drop my hip and look fabulous!

Note
slept:8.5 (rest day)

Walked 12km
Had some severe sports massage on my lower back, glute and R quad. Some slightly damaged tissue in the latter has turned it into a block of wood, resulting in my issues the other day. Will return to light jogging tomorrow for a few days then also do some work on both quads.

Needless to say this was all brought on by getting eyes bigger than my belly and doing 2 sessions and 2 races in an 8-day period starting 3 days after Duddon. Taking it easy between is all well and good, but you're still not recovering. Good to push the boundaries every now and then but mid-season, maybe not the best time!

Running - Road 1:05:41 intensity: (21:01 @1) + (15:00 @2) + (14:30 @3) + (1:00 @4) + (14:10 @5) 14.8 km (4:26 / km) +62m 4:21 / km
shoes: NB Vazee Rush

3x1km (200 jog) with group, then went solo:
3x400 (400 jog); 2x (100SFS)
Trying to keep comfortable aiming at ~3.10s
3.05, 05, 07; 70, 69, 70; 16/22/17, 16/24/17.
Felt comfortable, a little tiredness expected as the 4th set of effort in 8 days.
Then starting to run back my lower right back came on really sore - it had niggled a bit during the session but not enough to warrant any worry. Then L knee started joining in as well! By the time I got on the bus at West Street I was hobbling to walk.
Earlier in the day I had thought about delaying the session, have pushed it a bit this week but kept it easy between effort days, felt better as the day went on and wanted to train with people (good 'me' level group tonight with John, Matt, Rich, Alex Lanz and a new guy working together behind Connor). Hopefully it'll work out quickly!!

Note
(rest day)

Managed to miss a step and twat my knee, little sore but nothing seriois.

Random ShUOC 'legend' Andy Sadler spotted at both Castleton and Edale, famed for his 'come as a drink' BUCS 2011 fancy dress: Hawaiian shirt, sun hat with condoms stapled to it. No messing.
