DVO Chinley Churn. SL: 8.1/325m.
Looking forward to this as it's been the hill I looked on from my bedroom window for the first 18 years of my life. The moorland was a bit more technical than I thought, but still more about running, with the mines good if a bit narrow, so out to a path and along was always a fairly easy option.

I started very scrappily with small misses in the circle at 1 & 5, going in a set of crags too early at 7, along with some fairly daft errors: 4 - was in the marsh the control was in, but started trying to navigate by the trees nearby; Knew I needed to get back on the path out of 6 to get to the Xing point, but just started running direct towards #7 anyway (~70s between these). There was a smaller unmapped depression at 10 which threw me (1min - can see the unmapped depression on the satellite image!), and I was too high on a very vague reentrant at 11 (20s), led into it by someone else.
I went low to 14, taking in extra climb up a rough stream, when high would have been best. After this though I got going and was cleanish, but it was a bit easier. However I felt a bit tired on the runnable hills, especially coming out of 15 and 20, but was moving OK elsewhere.

SI times out a bit - results listed as Dane 54:00, Wooders 55:05, Me 57:10 (106%). OK, but reckon I could have done 55 fairly easily.

jogged down the hill. I intended to go out for another 5km or so, but figured after a sit down that I'd save something for next week and I was done for the weekend.

Rivelin. Thermal, bulging sack and headtorch, must be early October. Would have liked longer but ran out of time.

The Kinder Dozen. The first half was nice, then the weather got a bit iffy. I enjoyed 9 and 10, until I tripped over at Kinder Low Trig. Then it was a sufferfest - which is what I wanted. I knew the slog from Kinder River to Sandy Heys Trig, off the N edge to Alsop and back up to Fairbrook would suck, and it did.

ticked it though.

Wasn't expecting any speed after the last 10 days, and I had none, dropping from any pack like a stone after about 90s. However I was pleased to get though feeling fair. Let's see how much this has an effect on tomorrow's jaunt out.

After mentioning a session to the ShUOC boys, Dane and Nathan showed up. Fantastic keen bean status to the freshers (even if Nathan made an excuse about an inhaler half way through and left - had been going OK till then), but I can't help but think they should be drunk. Dane was leading all the reps by a good gap from Connor. Big group out.

Felt like a pig. Thankfully Hameron did't spunk in my mouth.

True or not, it's bloody funny.
