Fell Intercounties. 41st. Sucked uphill, just can't push myself on shorter races (i.e. anything under 2h) at the moment, needs work. Dusted off the sprint finish, still works. First race as a v40 as well...

Helped out at May Queen, this was all I could squeeze n after time beforehand was squashed by work.
Having looked at IC's course earlier, would much rather be doing the 3 days in May! Oh well.
Bit of tightness in L side of lower L leg - due I think to going over on ankle a bit on Tuesday. Legs generally feeling much better than then though.
Rumours of Mount Famine being a champs race next year if anyone fancies the trip tomorrow.

Hoping to shift this stake feeling.
I'm still in the mindset of chasing miles. I don't need to do this at this time of year - I'm pleased with the endurance I have from last summer and the winter. I'm going to try and cut down from now on, focussing on quality, not quantity and trying to get my legs ticking over.
Of course, if the weather's cracking and I'm feeling good the miles will come back by default.

Burbage Skyline. 10th

Feeling very tired, a point I laboured somewhat. Set off with intent, just in case, being in 3rd at Surprise view, Tom and Jonny off ahead. It didn't take long for the following pack to make short work of me up to Mother Cap and I spent the rest of the race in a very comfortable 10th position. I'd gain a little on flats and downs, but gradually lose an extra 2-30m on ups and just phoned it in. Perfectly happy running one of my favourite races for the first time in 4 years though, and seeing some cracking performances with Tommy, Jonny and Matt rounding out the podium, myself and Potter making it 5 ShUOC in the top 10.
More rest needed in general, more speed needed for racing... after Duddon.
