Note

Anyone got any plans post-Wharncliffe next weekend? Run? Sunday Lunch? Both?

9th. Winner: Pete Vale/Will Neill 1:43:05 (109%)
Bitter down in the valley but lovely once on the hills. Feeling tired so settled off the main group, even taking a different (inappropriate) line at one point. Ran the flatter section with Kris Nowacki and started feeling good so eased on the effort a bit more as we hit the SW of the Long Mynd. Had good lines on the Rollercoaster back to Cardingmill Valley and felt good on the final, gable-esque climb up Yearlet.
Fairly pleased with my strength at the end. I'd like to see what happens if I go off with a front group and whilst it was a good one to be in (Will, Pete, Tim Davies, Rich Roberts, Chris Jones (MDC), Little Rob, Simon C) my body wouldn't have hacked it today. Black Combe it is then!

Caught somewhere between taking it easy ahead of tomorrow and getting miles in at home. Nice day although a bit windy once I was out but decided for the miles and to work off last night's excess.
Lantern Pike, Chunal, Carr Meadow, Shooting Cabin, Hayfield, TV mast and back over the muddy fields to Low Leighton. Back through the rats nest.

Not much time to squeeze this in. Over to the Fox, down to Strines and back over Mellor Cross. Midsole on these shoes pretty minimal now, and I felt every rock.
All day my legs could tell they did a hill set yesterday.

6x Penkhull new road. In, Up, Off.
been eyeing this session for a while and with an easier scheduled week at Track I took my window.
~130m into the bottom of Penkhull new road. Up it (~50m ascent in ~500m) then off the top (~280m).
Basically trying to work a) my uphill b) hitting a hill hard at the bottom and keeping on going c) running hard off the top without a cruise to get out of O2 debt.
3:44, 3:50, 3:53, 3:59, 4:02, 4:07 (had to dodge a car on the last 1)
last 2 a struggle. Will try and repeat this a fortnight or so out from Pendle

Monday=recovery. Pennkhull Clayton and Trentham. Felt really feak and weeble heading up to Clayton, but a sit down and a good talking to myself sorted me out and I perked up enough to feel OK for 10min at a faster pace.

S&C 15:00 [1]

must do more of this with planned increased mileage. Stretching most days now though which is leaving my legs fresher than in the past.
