Note

Felt really physically tired on the drive back - tbh I've been feeling that way since SPOOK. But just getting home, sitting down and having a little think and I feel ready and raring to go! We'll see if I feel the same tomorrow morning!
Toe next to pinkies are sore on both feet - cold and contouring? I can feel my heartbeat in each of them!
10 AM

Orienteering race (Silver Howe) 2:21:12 [3] ***** 17.12 km (8:15 / km) +640m 6:57 / km
spiked:25/36c slept:8.5 shoes: Muclaw 333 (3)

SL: 14.7;775. Windy. Very Enjoyable.
Took the long contour to 10; Ran with Eddy until on the way to 18 when he saw a ravine and got scared. Caught SimonG back up at 22, lost contact as I took some 'interesting' line out of 25 and 26. Accidentally took a very good line to 31 but fell over, but caught Simon up again at 32. Dif RC to 33, very similar time-wise, got away from him on the run to the finish from 34 onwards.

Picked a few dodgy lines and felt pretty tired. Just found it hard to keep going when I was on my own and made a silly bananas towards the end.

encouraging, although would like to have been within 30mins of the leading pack (1:40ish).

Warm up/down 12:38 [2] 2.36 km (5:21 / km) +102m 4:24 / km
slept:8.5 shoes: Muclaw 333 (3)

I over-took Carl Bell on my warm up.
Turns out the upward route I looked at was not the 'actual' one everyone took in the race.

Running - Trail race (Kirby Moor Fell Race) 58:02 [4] 11.4 km (5:05 / km) +441m 4:16 / km
shoes: Muclaw 333 (3)

A windy race (hence the turbines) with a good mix of bog, fell grass and track.

Naturally I let the fast boys go off (Addison x2, noor, Bell) hoping to figure at the front of the 'best of the rest race'. However whenever people went past me I had no sticking power and slipped back to around 15th place by checkpoint 5 - really struggling up the most sedate of hills. Got out-route choiced on the way to 6 (followed the guys in front) but the guys who caught us up couldn't handle my descending. Took 2 more places on the end (on 10m before the finish) to finish 13th. The leading 4 were between 48:45-50:51. 5th was 55:20.

At the FRAs I felt like I could have stuck with Mike Robinson all day but today he just went through me and was just off 5th.

More hills needed! More sleep needed (still recovering from SPOOK? maybe).

Note
slept:7.5

In work at 7am means no morning run.
6 PM

Running - Road 25:54 [2] 5.54 km (4:41 / km) +20m 4:36 / km
shoes: New Balance M849

Easy out to the loop, easy back until we hit greenhow and I ramped up the pace, then short triangle loop to calm down.

Running Intervals tempo 18:29 [3] 4.57 km (4:03 / km) +6m 4:01 / km
ahr:198 max:255 shoes: New Balance M849

Eaqsy tempo in a group. I kept wanting to go quicker but figured that after a long day and general tiredness this was about right.
1.5mile loop, 1st one at 4min/km (meant to be at 7min miles which is daft slow, thankfully myself and Daz set it at an honest pace!) then the same in a 6 man peleton, team pursuit style slingshotting to the front. Good fun session but will want more soon.

A lot of late EUOC on the startlist for the TWT - looking even better now than it did originally!

Running - Road 1:06:00 [3] 14.56 km (4:32 / km) +65m 4:26 / km
ahr:153 max:172 slept:7.5 shoes: New Balance M849

HFW steady (6km, avg 4:40) to drop the bag (and a bit of weight) off, easy tempo for 7km (4:12, tired legs still but nice to boost them out) out to the Infinity bridge and back via the station and sainsbury's, then a slow mile home for some more weight loss :S

Note
slept:7.0

The plan of 8+ hours sleep was nixed by the Fellrunner.
2 weeks ago the plan was 4 back-to-back-to-back-to-back 80kms, a week off then up to 100kms a week. I managed 80km in week 1 but the weekend's shenaigans put last week's down to 70km, as expected.
My legs are still pretty shot so I doubt i'll hit 80km this week, I'll just try to keep ticking over and loosening myself off.
5 PM

Running - Road 29:07 [3] 6.44 km (4:31 / km) +24m 4:26 / km
ahr:154 max:171 slept:7.0 shoes: New Balance M849

quick loop to see how the legs were - felt a bit tired.
7 PM

Climbing 15:00 [1]

a bit of bimbling around at the Teesside Uni wall. Good but small. Not very good at all. Never had much in the way of arm and finger strength when I was climbing regularly before Uni, and the disparity between my legs and arms is even more now!

Note
slept:8.0 (rest day)

Legs are pretty shagged, other than that not too bad apart from a bout of Sheffield-withdrawal syndrome, but a dose of MTFU will sort that out.
