Running - Road 1:08:00 [3] 13.3 km (5:07 / km) +210m 4:44 / km
slept:8.5 shoes: New Balance N1024

Good run with Ash taking in Broomhill, Endcliffe, Bingham, Whiteley Woods, Criomicar Lane, Blackbrook woods, Coppice Track (ickle lambikins included), Den Bank, Stables and Springvale Road. Legs a little tired after yesterday, but mainly good. Even had a brief political discussion, Ash stopped me talking about labour as we crossed the GC :P

Running - Road long ((& a bit of terrain)) 1:50:30 [2] 18.5 km (5:58 / km) +340m 5:28 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Inov8 RocLite 320

Perfect easy long run with Gaz, Mark and Hoddy (and Charli, Ingrid and RachL at, erm, the start/the cafe!)
Out along the top of Rivelin, then down to the ressers and up Wyming brook - never been up here as I normally stick high on the way back from the peaks - the around Redmires. There was a cricket club on a charity walk up there all dressed in whites. When we approached them they were having a fag break looking at us like we were the odd ones... Up to the pole and then along stanage edge (not via the bog for once!), Higger, Owler (Mark took a tumble) and down to surprise view. Stopped the watch here, but we jog/walked down Padley Gorge to the Grindleford Cafe for a stonking chip butty and ice-cream. I'm pleased to say it's not changed at all since the last time I visited a couple of years ago :)
Train back and walk through town. Why would anyone shop on a day like this? (at least they weren't at meadowhell.)

The perfect tonic to a week of ambivalence to running and training.

Running - Road 46:00 [2] 8.2 km (5:37 / km) +160m 5:07 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Inov8 RocLite 320

Easy pace with Wil (for a bit) and Rhys (for a bit longer) then on my own (when I felt cack) taking in Bole Hill, Tunnel, Rivellin Glen, Den Bank, lotties, Stables, Weston Park. Sped up a bit near the end, purely for egotistical reasons, but still felt cack.

Running Intervals intervals (Rivelin Glen) 11:40 [4] 2.55 km (4:35 / km) +54m 4:08 / km
shoes: Inov8 RocLite 320

6xlengths of Rivelin Glen, 3 east, 3 west, ~420m, each rep off 2 mins.
East went 1.18,1.23,1.26
West went 1.28,1.31, 1.36 (bit hillier this way)

Felt cack, unsurprisingly!
(not done any intervals in tiiiime!)

Note

looks like hayfever's on its way. Woooo!...

Note
slept:5.5

Brilliant day, and I spent most of it indoors being taught minibus things. Then did some work and, when I was going to go for a run, I fell asleep sat on my desk chair.

Running - Road 48:50 [3] 10.1 km (4:50 / km) +210m 4:23 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: New Balance N1024

Finally dragged me sen out on a lovely arvo for it. Heavygate, BH, Stables, RivGlen, fields of tiny horses (where have their tiny little legs carried them?), Crosspool, School Rd. Bit quicker than intending and legs felt heavy and I managed to get a stitch, but that disappeared eventually.

Note
(rest day)

So I've had a chance to look back at the weekend. 90% of the time I was orienteering well, just 3 stupid mistakes which, once the wheels were in motion and panic set in, I couldn't get my act back together. Maybe the fact that I was on 1:15000 had some bearing on it - on Monday I was much more confident at 1:10000 and able to run closer to Fell Race speed as the map was easier to read. I was also less hesitant on 1:10 - but hesitancy is something I expect and that willl take time to improve.
I'm running well at the moment and, despite a heavy workload will hopefully have a good fell season with some good summer evening O prac and weekend races. The more on 1:10000 the better ;)

Orienteering race (Premier leg 2) 29:55 [5] ***** 4.9 km (6:06 / km) +80m 5:39 / km
spiked:15/17c slept:7.0 shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 330 Yellow 2

4th Team ShUOC Naked Surprise: Dan, Me, JT.
Was on my own for pretty much the whole course until the end where I came across some people on the M120+
This was much more like it - I think middles distances are more my think Orienteering-wise. Was running well and flowing much better than the previous 3 days.
#5 - a biut hesitant, 10s
#6 - Too far left, ending up in the scraggy valley to the north of the control - should have noticed from the veg but didn't until I hit the open and track - caught it quickly though, minimising time loss to 1-1.5mins.
12 - There was 4/5 of us on the same leg and we all drifted north - 20s.
