Grand Saturday ride with some/all/none of Marcus and Faz depending on the time. Home to Broomhill, then out via Redmires to Stanage Pole, then down the (bloody rough at times) Long Causeway. Back along the road to Stanage Popular end CP, Burbage Bridge North to Lady Canning's. Across to the Houndkirk 'Road' (where Faz left us), then along here to Hathersage Road and Stoney Ridge Road, from where found a rather nice (if a bit rutted at times - I spent a bit of time falling in between the ruts...) Bridleway on Blacka Moor. First time riding here (only the 2nd time I've been all told) and think I'll be revisiting quite a bit over the summer. Marcus knew a path that contoured around the hill to the bridleway we wanted, then down to the bottom of Blacka and to the outskirts of Totley. Across some field into Eccy Woods (where Marcus headed for home), and back home via High Storrs, Bingham and Weston Park. Bonza!
Great weather - was sunny but not as opressive (both sun and humidity-wise) as earlier in the week. Was going quite well up hills, but Marcus was much better than me on the rough stuff, and I panseyed around on rough descents. Bike handling got better as we went, but not great at maintaining speed.
A Grand Day Out
Knackered at the end. And bum hurt for the first time on a bike.
