Note
slept:10.0 (rest day)

Decided to have what is meant to be my last proper long lie-in until exams are over, so missed Tankersley which is a shame, but I'm not overly fussed.

Running - Road (Terrain (frosty)) 1:22:00 [2] 11.5 km (7:08 / km) +220m 6:30 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 330 'O'

'recce' of some bit of the Tigger Tor route avec moobs and Gaz. From Lady Cannings => Ox Stones, Edge, plantation, Higger, Owler, toads mouth (missed out Carl Wark as we all know where it is), Stone trough (stumbled across this!) then cut across to the big track and back to the car. Very bleak from Ox Stones to the edge, and the heather was very frozen. (only gaz was wearing shorts) From Owler Tor there was a melted track in the heather where someone else had evidently been recceing the route as well. Went further than measured as was claggy so couldn't really see where we were going. Line to the edge was pretty good though. (Rhys's doing)
Hairdressers in their 4x4s cocking about on the track, and a large group of europeans admiring Gaz's legs at the river. "oiski poiski... shortsa!" and a map

Note

left knee was hurting a bit for a little bit during yesterdays run, and whilst it didn't hurt running today, all the jumpin over heather has meant it hurts a bit now. Keep my eye on it for a while. Short 'n easy tomorrow so can fit lots of revision in.
Or sit around and watch lots of snooker and darts...

Note

break for a run resulted in 2 hours of watching darts, so now I feel crap. May tootle around roads later, unless I drown in a sea of gay microbial genetics.

Running - Road tempo (Road) 34:00 [4] 8.0 km (4:15 / km) +134m 3:55 / km
slept:9.0 shoes: Asics somethings

all-road 'tempo' run to bash out some Microbial Genetics aggression, as well as starting to work out a race-pace for the shorter fell races in the summer. Down to Endcliffe Park and along the bottom, then up riverdale to ranmoor. Across to, then up Lydgate for a bit before moseying home.
First 4km took just under 16mins, but it was all downhill (slowed a bit along bottom of the park as stich meant runing quicker than was breathing, but it never reared its head again.) 2 stops on the way back up the hill for traffic as my 'dash for a gap' mentality had escaped me.
felt good. Think this is the quickest pace I've ever logged on AP. wan-hundered-und-ayt-ee!!

warm up/down 5:00 [1]

if it's good enough for dickinson, it's good enough for me

Note

Now here's a 'sportsman' for you:
Interview with Ted Hankey after he won his dart's match
Bobby George: "you looked so much more smoother today. you cut down on beer today didn't you?"
The Count: "yeah, I only had 3 pints beforehand today. Earlier in the week it was 5 before a match"
Bobby George: "and compared to last year?"
The Count: "Yeah, last year it was 11,12,13 pints before a match"

I had to laugh.
Orienteering after 13pints? worth a try...

Note
slept:8.0

Woke up at sensible time, and ~3 hours straight work on assignment = DONE! Still revision, and lots of it,to get through mind. Gah! Dunno really what to do today training wise, may do summat later, but need to sort out shopping/books/banks as well. May get a sub 'o the day when in town though... At least Hustle is back tonight. Yes!

note - didn't get anything I needed, but did leave Zavvi with Die Hard box set to educate Dave with after exams (and annoy Zanthe I dare say..)

S&C 21:00 [3]
(rest day)

few circuit wotsits on the hard mat in the front room in front of the darts after I'd had a hoover. Held holdy things for 1min each, when exercise was quantitative did 30 in a row (apart from press-ups which were done in 20-10 as I'm pathetic)

Running - Road (Terrain/Trail (snowish)) 42:00 [2] 6.8 km (6:11 / km) +154m 5:33 / km
slept:11.0 shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 330 'O'

Once again, inability to wake up until midday. Grr! Although staying up late did meen seeing the best nerd-sulk and worst attempt at an obstical course ever on the Krypton Factor, so swings and roundabouts.
Comfy run from Fox House round burbage with Rhys and Fluce. Not so cold today, snow a bit soft, bog also. Carl Wark (few hundred metres of effort here, then waited for others), Higger Tor, round to Bridge, back along the edge. Only 1 other person out there (apart from Liz, Rach and Loz) and 1 rasta snowman. here you go Rhys...

Running - Road (Road) 15:45 [3] 3.5 km (4:30 / km) +40m 4:15 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

only took ~45mins to get out of bed today!
From home through weston park, clarkhouse rd/brocco bank, endcliffe park to Bingha for some hi reppin'

Running Intervals hills (frozen grass (terrain?!)) 16:15 [5] 3.0 km (5:25 / km) +208m 4:01 / km
shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

8xreps up the grass slope with recovery down in between (apart from after last rep). after reps 5-7 took a few seconds at the top of the hill to 'catch my breath' (and boy was there a lot of breath)

Running - Road (Road/terrain) 53:00 [3] 9.35 km (5:40 / km) +172m 5:11 / km
shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

Had planned the session to includea long route home, so I had to do it really.
From the top of the hill rep hill down to the path through the woods in Bingham, then whitley woods to Brookhouse Hill (just before the Cafe) up here, and then up Crimicar Lane to the Golf Course. Across here then back along top of Rivelin (skittery), A57, Allotments, Stables, Crookes, School Road to home.
Bonking all over the place after hills. Many rests and some walks, but so tough to keep going, even at this slow pace.
If I'd known it was going to be this solid I'd've worn me roadies as they're much more comfortable/light than these heavy buggers!

Running - Road (Trail/Terrain (snow)) 48:00 [2] 8.8 km (5:27 / km) +120m 5:06 / km
slept:10.0 shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 330 'O'

Once again it took me 100mins to get out of bed.
Anyway, run from Redmires with Marcus at a comfy pace in the snow, which was nice. A few bits of virgin powder the skiier in me had to deflower.
Long Causeway (Stanedge Pole), Along the edge to High Neb Trig, path to Rape Piece (good name), down to and along conduit before cutting over the hill back to redmires.
Made a change to scare more sheep than grouse on a run as well. snow joke!

Running - Road (Road Run) 10:30 [2] 2.2 km (4:46 / km) +22m 4:33 / km
shoes: Asics somethings

Home from Lydgate Lane through crookes and down Heavygate Rd.

Note

Playing lots of summery Ska/Reggae (what's new there then!) to try and keep me warm in mind, if not physically, whilst working
