Note

dear lord, where has my alcohol tolerance gone?!?

Running - Road race (Edale Fell Race (Hungover) 47:25 [5] 7.46 km (6:21 / km) +405m 5:00 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

Was in blazing sun, but I felt poo as was hungover from last night, and lacking in energy as my sustenance was on the floor outside Somerfield :S.
Still, at least I didn't Vom en-route like Wil :p
Felt like death at Grindslow knoll, and was going to let the lad I'd been racing get away. Bum-slid a bit of the plummet, but then nailed it on the field afterwards, taking about 6 people in 20 seconds! But then the road hit and was a bitch, but I managed to (somehow) have enough to put distance between the guy, and take 2 people on the finish!

Really quite sunburnt now...

Running - Road warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

Run to start. just walked a bit to warm down.

Note

HAHAHAHAHA.
Just found out I was first U20 Male. Fantastic! There's wine as a prize. oh... oops!

Running - Road race (Castleton Fell Race) 53:10 [5] 9.6 km (5:32 / km) +457m 4:28 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

A good race for running! Steep uphill, gentle, but long and sustained uphill, gentle downhill, bloody steep downhill with stone steps, and a nice long road at the end where I kicked away from the guy who was just behind me (but was a bit younger methinks)
Kept pushing, depsite my stomach contenets sloshing around, which was odd as I hadn't eaten for a while before hand. Go ahead of Gaz on the way towards Losehill, then down along the ridge and up the gentle slope to Mam Tor, before turning around and nailing it back! The road seemed longer on the way back than it did on the way out!

This is the route. The 1500ft climb appears to be about 1100, at most, but I'll take the one given by the organisers!

Running - Road warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

Bit of pootling around the field before and after.
We got onto the topic of sprinters on the way home.
Sprinters: Warm up for 2 hours, run for 11 seconds.
Fell Runners: Warm up for 11 seconds, run for 2 hours.
Nice symmetry there.
Gonna do no running tomorrow. My knee may not be happy tomorrow, and I want to run Edale on Sunday. I'm excited about the decent already :D

Note
slept:5.0

Bit of a rubbish nights sleep, as took 100mins to nod off.
However, exam went well. Not aced it, but feel I've got a solid result.
Left knee still hurts a bit, and it's been joined by a bit of ache on lower left leg. If I go Intervals tonight, it'll be for heckling purposes only. Possibly with beer.

Running - Road warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Asics somethings

Down to Endcliffe, then a bit of pootling around.

Running - Road intervals (Parlaufs) 25:00 [4]
shoes: Asics somethings

Parlaufs in the woods. Ran most at 5, but the last 2 were run at 3 to warm the knee down/not cause any unnecessary pain later.

Note

Am now home alone as all the others have finished exams and gone home. This has its pros and cons:
Pros: 1.) there has been lots of food left that I can eat. 2.)I can play the violin loud if I want (although I did this and a 'absolute silence' notice was put through my door earlier...) 3.) I won't have to do any extra washing-up. Just my own!
Cons. 1.) If I want human company, I'll have to go searching for it. And arrange it. =effort and time away from revision 2.) The house still smells.
hmmm

Running - Road warm up/down 12:00 [1]
slept:9.0 shoes: Asics somethings

Had a terrible night's sleep, so decided to lay in and got up at 11, which hit the work a bit.
Took ProPlus to counteract the drowsey hayfever tablet, which resulted in me haveing the concentration of a gnat.
Run to Goodwin and some of the way back with Faz

Orienteering 1:13:00 [3] *** 8.1 km (9:01 / km) +359m 7:23 / km
spiked:22/28c shoes: Asics somethings

Road Oing around Walkly, crooks, Bole Hill, Union, crookes park, crookesmore, Ponderosa, planned by Faz, who engaged me in a sprint finish. He lost.
Took it more at a jog because of the knee. Walked around the undergrowth in Bolhill as it sucks big willy. Several long schleps up the hill resulted in a lot of climb!
Apart from making a 90degree error on the way to 4 (lack of compass?) and a bit of fannyong at 5, not many problems. Aprt from nettles and traffic lights :)

This be the course and this be what I did

Note

Knee felt OK when running. Aches a bit now, but no way near as much as it could do. I'll put some frozen vegetables on it whilst I cook my sausgaes!

Running - Road 39:00 [2] 4.8 mi (8:07 / mi) +64m 7:48 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Asics somethings

worked from 11-1ish. Flatmate came in after his last exam and put musc on. I was going to go for a run anyways. Come back and he's cleaning and filled 3 binbags with detritus from the living room!
Just a boring, wet slow-poke jog to fulwood and back through the parks. Boring.
Although I did see a woman with a plastic bag wrapped around her head. Maybe she'd had an operation...
Typical - Liz leaves the country and it pisses it down. She'll love this!

Note

Grrr. Feels like someone's stabbed me in the knee.
Had this pain a few months ago, but in my right one. Doesn't feel as bad now as it did back then. Hope it goes away like, tonight. Was looking forward to some bombing around walkly with the lads tomorrow, and a few hilly hilly fell races over the weekend...

warm up/down 8:00 [1]

trying to make the knee feel better. It helped a bit...

Running - Road tempo 5:45 [4] 0.91 mi (6:19 / mi) +10m 6:06 / mi
slept:7.0 shoes: Asics somethings

Had a nap before the trunce, only I turned my alarm off instead of hit snooze, so I had to burn it to goodwin to catch a lift with Middleditch, seeing as I'd missed the one I was meant to get with Wil

Running - Road warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

Pootle round the field beforehand

Running - Road race (Trunce #4) 29:15 [5] 4.25 mi (6:53 / mi) +167m 6:08 / mi
shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT

Trunce numero 4-o.
Once agin got stuck in the pack at the begining. Gaz was about 3 people ahead of me at the start, and by the bend he was 150yards ahead due to the amount of people I had to negotiate, but managed to pass a lot of people from there on on the flat/down to the first river crossing. First step in the river and I immediatly thought 'damn it, why didn't I bring a spare pair of socks?!' Negotiated the slippy get out and felt good. Overtook Wil at the Stile at the top of the 1st real 'hill,' Hit the road, and didn't feel too bad. Had to make sure I kept pushing, but the road didn't hit me this time! Took Gaz at the kissing gate on the way back up from the river (was going to offer him a kiss...) Then Zanthe on the track past the farm. Managed to hold her off at the finish as well. Mullered my PB by a minute (officially) but by 1.20 according to my timing of last time ;P
Felt good at the end. Reckon I could have carried on for another 4 easy miles!

Note

Right. My exams start this week (finally) so here's my plan to be raring to go for them:
Early nights, i.e. before 1, preferably before 12. I've seen every scrubs episode going, I don't need to stay up late to watch them again...
Wake up early - 8-9, so getting up for a 9am exam isn't a massive shock to the system.
Train. to release any stress I may build up (little), but mainly to work towards next year at uni :D
Work Have an Idea of what may be in these exams I'm sitting.
Beer To help me sleep. And we all know it's a good training tool!
Once I get home: Hit Kinder/the surrounding area every day to get some good hills and distances under my belt...

I've already hand washed my training tops in my sink, with fairy liquid and soap. Dedication? I think so!
Now, I'll find out if this plan works at some point in August...
(when I'll be the size of a house and a chroic Alcoholic...
