Looks like my grant application to the Women Sports Foundation Travel and Training Grant didn't make it :( I have to admit that I got my hopes high and planned a fantastic training summer for myself before WOC. Feels like I lost something, although I never really did have it. Darn you, hope and optimism. I knew there was a reason I was a pessimist. You never feel disappointed.

Day 2 of the Ski-O at the Balsams. Long course. Didn't try to push as hard as yesterday and made some very silly route choices. But I had lots of fun going down the hills! Beautiful day to be out skiing!

I haven't done ski-o much, but this was the most fun event I've been to in awhile. Dinner and breakfast did make it 100 times better, but the trails and course setting was also superb! Thanks, Alex, Ed and Ernst!!!

Balsams Ski-O, middle distance. Had some trouble with route choices, but I was skiing hard the whole way!

Fantastic venue!

Two times around the sprint course, but I forgot to time the second one. A fierce storm came through and created white out conditions on the golf course! But then halfway through my second sprint it stopped completely and the sun was shining before I even finished! Beautiful!

Burn with Kearns.

Too busy! Too many things to do and things aren't getting done on time... or at all. My classroom looks like a hurricane has come through and thrown papers everywhere. And I had to being home a separate bag to lug home all the uncorrected papers. Hope to do them on the car ride to and from the Balsams this weekend. I'm excited!

And I fell off the pushup train. Sigh.

Run with Dad around Dedham. As we were running up Meadowbrook a dog jumped out from a side street to join us in our run. We couldn't get her to go home, wherever that was, so she ran with us. I wasn't too concerned as it is a dead end street so I knew we would be coming back by the same spot. She ran with us up to the end and back down again. But when we passed where she came from, she was more than willing to keep running with us. We caught her and checked her tag, which luckily had an address on it. We cut over to the next street and as we were walking by the first house a woman open her door - it was her dog. Turns out the dog managed to jump the fence. The snow is high and now has a layer of ice on top so the dog can stand on the top. Of course once the dog (really a puppy) realized we were trying to catch her collar to get her in the house she thought it was a fun game. We ended up walking around to their garage, with the dog jumping around just out of reach, and then she eagerly jumped into the car. But it was a bit comical trying to watch Dad catch the dog in the snow :)
