Gravel Audax - East of MacEdon. Really really lovely loop with roughly 75% gravel. Been a while since I've done a long ride so struggled a bit to be honest; really enjoyed the first maybe 65km then started to die. It was clear and still for the first few hours but then it clouded over and the wind picked up. Found the section through Lancefield awful as it was really exposed. Got a bit of a second wind after stopping at Lancefield bakery for a drink and bite to eat so was able to finish but was completely wrecked by the end!

4 x 1 mile with ~300m recovery, with a big rest between 3 and 4 because I sat out Maddy's 4th then did her 5th with her. I did the first one much too fast and the third one was 33s slower. Really just stiffened up and was shuffling. Ah well, it's been a while since I've done a session really. Leg was pretty sore (and still swollen) from falling yesterday!

Nice night run with pooch. Pretty warm and still. Crossing one of the bridges past the golf course we came quite close to a wombat and her baby, very cute! Had to wait a while for them to get away and then to calm Cyril down as he was very excited.

NOL Knockout - QF / Heat (not enough women to do both heat and a QF). It was runners' choice and I really panicked because each "choice" had about 8 controls and I definitely hadn't finished looking at the first one by the time the timer ended, so I chose at random. By chance 3 of the 5 in the heat chose the B variant and came in 1-3, while Bec and I chose C and came in 4th and 5th, so it may have been a shit choice. But also I lost maybe 20s on controls #9 and #10 which you can't really afford to do in such a short race.

"Consolation" SF. This one had a butterfly loop. Followed the others into a mistake into the pivot, then was rattled so made another mistake on #3. The rest of the race was just playing catch-up and I ended up coming in 4th (top 2 qualify for the "consolation" final). Pretty demoralising that I can't even get it right in the B race. If sprints aren't really my thing, I think I'm even less suited to / good at KOs.
