DVOA Mid-Atlantic Champs at Fair Hill Mason Dixon - Green

A sort of shabby showing - most of the controls themselves I had no major problems with, though I sometimes lost time on trying to find the best way into a field or carefully picking through a maze of trails. I also fell pretty hard before even getting to 1 and bashed my knee. After crossing the bridge on the way to 9 I lost the trail I wanted in a sea of mud and briars, so I added time and distance there on an alternate route. Overall the courses were nice and kept us mainly in good forest. Control 7 was a beautiful spot overlooking the creek.

DVOA Mid-Atlantic Champs at Fair Hill Mason Dixon - Relay Leg 1

I didn't have enough people to even create an official relay team, and I was fairly dead after the morning course, so I'm not sure why I even decided to do this. But I ended up with a cobbled together team (Brennan Hall on 2nd leg and Jeremy Colgan on 3rd). As a 3 point team I had to start in the last wave of the mass start, and quickly fell behind all the other people. So much of this felt like it was uphill, I got on the wrong trail leaving the field from 3-4, meh... just a slog. The 2nd leg runners mass started before I even made it back.
