DVOA Mid-Atlantic Championships at Fair Hill Strawbridge Fields - Green

Fine, and fun, but I felt like I had no energy, especially on climbs. Ended up going way north in the fields between 3 and 4 after getting tangled in briars when trying to cut through the first little finger of woods. Overall, did decent at staying out of the worst of the thorns, though. Had to run early and split for home as I was working for someone 3-11 tonight (I rarely get asked to do a weekend so I kind of had to say yes, plus can use the overtime.)

Despite being lazy and fat, today my total logged training hours for the year passed last year (and became the most since 2010)

DVOA McKaig Night-O - Green

Fun Night-O in a cool little park. The place is mainly two big hill masses and we went up both of them a few times. No real navigational troubles. This is a good confidence building place for Night-O as you can pretty much see the lights of nearby houses from anywhere and it has lots of big, useful features. Cool controls were 3 (a manmade object which turned out to be a table in the middle of the woods with a bucket full of Chris's rubber chickens) and 14 (a ruin which was really a huge old chimney and fireplace, and despite it being enormous you really didn't realize this until you were on top of it). There was also a bonfire between 11 and 12 for the beginners to stop, which made it a little hard to figure out how to get over to control 12. Chris had also put out toy animals along the course for the kids to take, like a treasure hunt, but I only saw one (an elephant sitting on a trail sign).
