Safe Harbor Park, through the remains of old Safe Harbor Village. (Mostly old foundation holes, though these were very square, deep, and distinct.) Also an old cemetery. Actually a bit longer distance than this, but I didn't count from my car to the trailhead since I wasn't sure I'd actually find it.

The trail map leaves a little to be desired:

I did find it, although it was difficult to follow at times, and kind of devolved into a bunch of logging roads and fresh logging area near the old farm section. The wiggly part after that no longer seems to exist. I followed markers on trees into the woods a bit, but there was no obvious trail and the markers dead ended in a bunch of thorns and deadfall. Instead followed the logging roads across back to the cemetery, then retraced my steps and took the blue shortcut trail to the rest of the foundations.

Old foundation on the right:

Cemetery and photo of church ruins that no longer exist:

Big obvious old foundations lined this section at regular intervals:

QOC Rosaryville - Mid-Atlantic Championships - Green

Well, the whole Championships thing was sort of a joke because only myself and my Mom even showed up from our club. So to me, pretty much a regular meet. QOC has the age classes rule in place again, but we ignored this and ran our regular courses anyway. Since a) there's no way our club could possibly finish other than last place and b) even if we did run Red and Brown, neither of us could possibly finish high enough to score points unless everybody else fell into a hole or something.

It took some time to get into the map, so I was slow and hesitant to #1. Went down to the barn and entered the woods, but then came to this huge gully I wasn't expecting. Turns out these were mapped with the thicker pointed end brown line, but they looked just like index contours and it made them difficult to read. It took a little time to find a decent place to cross as the sides were so steep.

Moved along well and found everything else pretty easily. Encountered a hunter's trail cam in woods between 2 and the powerline, so he probably will wonder about those photos. Near 7 with the old cars and such was the only area I really remembered from the single other time I've been here. Tripped over a log and fell on my face on the way to 12, then had to slide down the gully again on my ass as there was no place to possibly walk down upright.

Except for the very darkest green, the woods were pretty nice, even when they didn't look it on the map. And the temperature/weather/day were perfect. Finished and had a hot dog before we took off for home. Didn't stay for relay since we couldn't create an official team.
