Back from the finish. Also went for a lovely walk up to Killicrankie with Freya, but not sure that is good enough for fitness improvement...

Fun course, lovely area, though the last section was a bit physical for my old bod and some of the control placements were a bit sneaky...

I may have said this before, but I am sooo slow at the moment. Really need to fit in some training somehow...

Prologue.

First time I've run in 2 weeks and boy did it show! Absolutely no pace, power or agility. This at least meant that the nav was solid; had soooo much time...

My recollection of the last time I did the JOK Chasing Sprint is of a mad, high speed,full speed, edge of ability, flat out tactical dash. Of using my pace to overcome slight technical deficiencies. Today was not like that. Well, ok, it was a little bit. In reverse. In slow motion. Or perhaps like I was on a planet with a denser atmosphere. And less oxygen.

My battle with Rob Lee and, latterly, Big Jon, was fun, but it was sad to be watching them - and everyone else I saw - run away from me. I consoled myself with thinking, "If I just hang in there until the Micky Mouse section at the end, I'll be able to put the foot down." How wrong I was:( I trailed in, as Roger said, a shadow of the man I used to be...
