Orienteering race 34:20 [5] 5.4 km (6:21 / km) +210m 5:19 / km

JK Relays for the FVO Old Boys as part of the Own the Podium Challenge. Slow - of course! - off the start and toiling to keep up with a large train of boys who do some training. Lost a little time up the hill to 5 as my oxygen-lacking brain had me veering off line in the hope of avoiding 1m of climb... Other than that it was just a matter of hanging on and not letting Will drop me too much... Great fun! And an amazing finish between Marcus and Roger!

Orienteering race 1:29:01 [4] 10.0 km (8:54 / km) +445m 7:17 / km

JK Day 3

Really great course and fantastic terrain. Unfortunately I started off terribly, with a massive overshoot on 1. Far too aggressive, distracted by muddy paths and Kris Jones. Got into it for a bit and then horror show at 8. Again distracted by trying to keep up with faster runners - Oli Johnson - for some reason... Delusional! No plan. No attack point. No idea. Ran to the wrong hill on 14. Nailed 16 and 17 (makes a change...), then completely missed the best route on the epic long leg and spent most of it with no idea where I was... After that knackered. Just not fit enough.

Orienteering race 1:20:15 [5] 8.6 km (9:20 / km)

JK Day 2

Not impressed by this. Course was terrible and area not much better. Around 19 I was swearing a lot and demanding my money back! Clearly everyone else agreed as I had a surprisingly competitive result, demonstrating my well known versatility as an orienteer.

JK Sprint - Lancaster Uni

Slippy conditions and lots of short legs made it tricky to get going. I plugged away, wishing for grippier shoes and some training... No significant errors, which was significant as this allowed me to take the lead at the last and pip Will and Anthony by 1 second:)
