Orienteering race 59:55 [3]
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Hahahaha HA! Comedy hour with Ridiculous Rosco and the Floundering FVOers. What a joke! It's no laughing matter.

Horrific performance, absolutely all over the shop. Very distracted by others. Amongst other issues. Frankly unable to believe the extreme sloppiness of the whole affair.

Need to recall that wise mantra of my youth, my yesteryear, those dark days of yore: "You, young padawan, are in control, in control of one thing, one thing only; you are in control of Your race, your race Alone, no others, not a one." (This may have been slightly embellished over the years.)

Great fun of course. And very yummy tea after.

Wee warm up and collecting some flags.

Cycling 40:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 15

Spinning at the uni. Better this week - the wumin has sorted out her beats so they coincide with effort and - perhaps more importantly - so they are based on awesome dance hits of the nineties:) Sweaty.

Orienteering race 16:03 [4] 3.0 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Mixed Sprint Relay, Perth College.

Ground breaking event with SI touch free punching and WOCtastic format. Fi set me off in 5th, I got us up to 2nd before Murray cruised past. Managed to hold off Cheps and John Rocke though. Slippy conditions, straightforward course, lonely run. Major issue was forgetting you had to actually visit the controls even though you didn't need to punch them...

Team was competitive, even allowing for GBesque baton change between Will and Janine, yet somehow we were beaten by a team of boys. And I'd thought it was a mixed sprint relay. Not bitter.

Orienteering race 39:32 [4] *** 6.8 km (5:49 / km) +150m 5:14 / km

Tay Urban Race after the sprint relay, Letham. Straightforward course, not enough pace to make it interesting. Steady start as had let myself cool down but worked hard to catch Roger 2 minutes. Knackered after two hard races.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Fairly good warm up before the sprint. Fairly good standing around apart from that.

SOA Board Meeting. Had the cunning idea that I could do the ParkRun before the next one...

Running 50:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Fuji Trainer 2

Lunchtime run from Alba. Different route today - over towards the Civic Centre. Back eased off nicely during run. Unlike the Achilles:(
