A-Meet 1:29:23 [4] 10.3 km (8:41 / km) +365m 7:22 / km

I ran the six leg in the Jukola for a team from Oslo. I had to get up at 3 in the morning, to get ready. It turned out my team wasn't doing too well, and I didn't start until around 5. I had trouble getting into the race since it was so early, and I hadn't had much sleep. My first few controls were rather sloppy, but after about the 6 control, I settled in and had a good race.

Road Run 50:00 [2]
ahr:150

After sitting on a bus to Stockholm for 8 hours, I went for an easy jog with a group of juniors through the streets of Stockholm.

Hill Run 24:00 [5]

I got up early to run hill intervals with Erik, Torbjørn, Audun, and Karl, another junior from a neighboring club. We ran the trail up the hill to Holmenkollen. It was cool seeing the other side of the hill I ran on yesterday.

Torbjørn ran five six-minute intervals, and the rest of us ran pyramid intervals. 3,4,5,5,4,3 minutes respectively. It was very difficult running up the trail. My legs we dead from all the running I have been doing, so I wasn't able to keep up with Audun and Karl. Each time we would jog or walk back down the trail a little ways, and once we had recovered we would run again. We would rest 1 minute less than we had run each time, 2,3,4,4,3. We mostly jogged in between. At the end we had nearly reached the top. We continued jogging while we waited for Torbjørn to come down off the peak. When he ran by, we all jogged down again.

My Heart Rate was in between 175 and 185 each time.

Hill Run 1:00:00 [1]

In between running intervals, we jogged slowly. We also had a long warm up and cool down jog. It all amounted to about an hour of jogging at approximately 145 Heart Rate.

Local Meet 31:36 [4] 3.5 km (9:02 / km)

Tonight was the club champs for Nydalen Skiklub, a club just north of Oslo. There were two courses, one short, and one shorter. I ran the short one with all the elite runners. The terrain was fairly thick, and I had a few bad route choices, but otherwise I ran fairly cleanly. I wasn't too happy with my time, but I guess in this kind of terrain it wasn't too bad. I didn't feel like I had run too hard, but that was only because I couldn't run any faster in the brush. Also, it was pouring and the woods were saturated with water, so I kept getting my eyes splashed. This made reading the map a little more difficult.

I messed up on my splits so I don't have my heart rate, but I do have the Emit splits. I guess there is no sense in putting them here without my heart rate. I did get my average heart rate for the race, however.

Average Heart Rate: 171

Trail Run 1:37:35 [1] 12.0 km (8:08 / km)

Average Heart Rate: 147

I ran a long trail run with Ampa, a Spanish girl studying at the University of Oslo. We ran at an easy pace, and a relatively low intensity. The woods were very similar to Harriman State Park, and the trails were very rocky. I got to see a great view if Oslo from an overlooking peak. I also got to see Holmenkollen, the big ski jump on a neighboring peak.
