Orienteering 1:20:15 [3] ***
21c shoes: Icebug Zeal OLX, size 11
Day 6, Glen Affric North, the WOC long terrain. 5 hours solid on the start, gobbled down a cheeseburger, then punched the start unit and was off. Enjoyed the terrain and should really have been faster, but didn't really have a race face on. Just a bit tired by this stage.

6 days overall: Really enjoyed it, and especially watching WOC, which was excellent. Couldn't orienteer to save my life, but that didn't seem to spoil the fun at all. Need to get back to a better fitness and focus a bit better!

17c shoes: Icebug Zeal OLX, size 11
Day 5. Glen Affric South. This was tough, battling through the terrain and the bracken. The route to number one went straight across a pretty scary looking gorge, and into an area where I couldn't make sense of anything. Stumbled into the control though and ended up having comfortably my best run of the week. There was a strange feeling, out in the outer reaches of the map, that noone else was around. Was surprised to be thrashing through head-high bracken from a late start. Had everyone else given in before this point? Probably. Tough but great fun. And a decent run at last.

16c shoes: Icebug Zeal OLX, size 11
Day 4, Darnaway, normal distance. When it could barely get worse, this was the worst run of the week! Still really enjoyed it though. 13 was the worst control ... think I may have been bang on initially, but it had fallen on the ground. Should have made a better job relocating, though, as there was a track just a 100m away.

Day 3, middle distance at Darnaway. Oops ... rubbish again, with 5 or 6 significant mistakes. Fun, fast terrain though. And first place on the run-in, of the 150 M45s, but still nowhere near the ECKO kids in the club contest!

19c shoes: Icebug Zeal OLX, size 11
Day 2, Glen Strathfarrar. Managed to top Day 1 by running off the map on 4 and taking a little while to figure that one out. Stonking run-in though. It was a pretty heavy-going day, but scenic and enjoyed it none-the-less.
