Blimey, that was a tough wee workout - and nothing to do with the gardening earlier. Reps of 2 mins at 60rpm straight into 2 @ 110rpm, both over FTP.

Very easy recovery spin. Great video of MTB madness on Madeira, but I was really being inspired by imagining Marcus & Caitlin starting out on their Sutherland epic.

Wahoo SYSTM: Provence: Gorges de la Nesque
Lovely mostly Z3 w/o, 7 x 5min efforts with 90/70/90 cadence 90s blocks and a standing 30s. Found the standing painful but am getting better at the lower cadence blocks.
Loving the videos accompanying these sessions of some lucky bloke doing the reps on his bike in glorious sunshine on pristine French roads. When I get my knee fixed I am heading off on my bike for some real life cyclisme a France avec beaucoup du pain, fromage et bierre. Goals!

A very easy spin, buoyed by an encouraging consultation with the knee surgeon earlier, very much more positive than the downbeat assessment from an NHS consultant 2 years ago. I might be able to put off the full knee replacement for a while yet.

Lunchtime away from the desk - back suffering after yesterday, need to keep mobile. Interesting wee workout. I need to do more of this - I was bouncing in the saddle on the high cadence reps. Knee held out OK on the medium intensity 50rpm reps, surprisingly; but the standing reps weren't good.

Pro Rides Tour of Norway 2 (40 of 60 minutes). Had to stop early - Dad duties - but this was lots of fun, best SYSTM workout so far. Man, that peloton was TOAST
