Note
(rest day)

Another 'rest day' for the knees. Half-day motorbike jaunt up the west coast.

Stretching 15:00 [0]

Decided I need to try do more stretching, so in typical Brad style started with a small set of 15 REALLY HARD yoga moves and have been sore ever since. Pillock.
4 PM

Cycling (Zwift group ride) 1:00:16 intensity: (48 @1) + (2:08 @2) + (12:51 @3) + (41:25 @4) + (3:04 @5)
ahr:146 max:168 shoes: Specialized Globe Vienna Disc

Randomly picked group ride; had to try hard to keep a small group of 4 working together. Total wreck at the minute. Bad knees, glutes a mess of painful knots, sciatica, and I am also a fat git.

Walking 1:00:08 intensity: (25:22 @0) + (33:10 @1) + (1:36 @2) 5.85 km (10:17 / km) +127m 9:16 / km
ahr:90 max:111 shoes: Hoka Stinson 4 ATR

Both knees still swollen :-(. This "running" thing is clearly bad for them.
5 PM

Cycling (Zwift workout) 50:03 intensity: (2:10 @1) + (30:32 @2) + (17:21 @3) 25.75 km (30.9 kph) +207m
ahr:122 max:137 shoes: Specialized Globe Vienna Disc

10-12wk FTP Builder Week 6 Day 2
Random workout, easyish. Didn't seem to make the knees any worse, but sensible to not push it until the swelling has disappeared.

Note
(rest day)

Another rest day required, to try to reduce some of the knee swelling.

Walking 52:42 intensity: (9:18 @0) + (39:50 @1) + (3:34 @2) 5.15 km (10:14 / km) +136m 9:02 / km
ahr:95 max:118 shoes: Hoka Stinson 4 ATR

Right knee taking its turn at being wonky today - also getting some sciatica down the leg with a bit of foot tingling, likely tied to the glute/back issues first noted on Monday. Sigh! Just a short stump/stroll this morning.
6 PM

Orienteering 53:39 intensity: (15 @1) + (11 @2) + (10:34 @3) + (37:54 @4) + (4:45 @5) 5.5 km (9:45 / km) +192m 8:18 / km
ahr:151 max:165 shoes: 2019 Inov-8 O-Roc 340

South Achray WEE, Green.
Nice course by John H, area in top condition at the minute. It helped that the sun was out too! Two duff-ups (ca. 6 minutes dumped!) and I had barely one functioning knee (both now swollen post-event), but amazingly I managed to be within seconds of Rhys again. How can we both be so consistently cr*p?

Note
(rest day)

So whilst neither Strava nor Garmin Connect include orienteering in their activities list, the latter DOES include motorcycling. Since I rather suspect that they had Valentino Rossi wresting his MotoGP bike around a race track more in their minds than me hustling my X-ADV along the long route home from Livi - even when that was via Broughton and the Devil's Beef Tub (whoops!) - I shall refrain from logging anything. A rest day it is. Vroom.

Pre-Pilates warm up spin. Strapped the old bus onto the turbo for a change. Niggly glutes/sciatica, relaxed after about 15 mins.
