Early morning Braco return. Legs on backwards. Forgot to drink anything beforehand, too! Eejit. It wasn't raining but it was still very wet on the roads; warm, though, cooked in my jacket, despite the leisurely pace. Finally felt good after I'd had a shower and breakfast :-). TRIMP 97.9.

Slow run along the coast path at Dunstanburgh castle. Feeling well out of sorts and pretty achey - not sure what's up. TRIMP 62.7.

It's been a rubbish week for exercise - too much work - so I grabbed the chance to get out in the evening sunshine after getting the kids to bed. Braco return, nice and steady; O tomorrow, and I don't want to be TOO far behind my fellow Blue runners at the British (some good competition!). TRIMP 112.3.

Orienteering race (Urban) 31:15 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (11:15 @4) ** 6.2 km (5:02 / km) +135m 4:33 / km
spiked:11/13c shoes: Nike Air Icarus+

WEE, Laigh Hills, Green - 4km. It's not being a good year for attending WEEs, but at least one of us had to support our local event - and my neck/back was feeling sufficiently recovered to allow it to be me. It was raining so the kids didn't fancy it.

Slightly worried about running an urban course on hard surfaces, so I just took things steadily and tried to tread lightly. I was wearing trainers - completely devoid of any O gear tonight - so that helped cushion impact. Hopefully I'll be able to move tomorrow... As it was, the steady pace meant that I had plenty of time to look at the route and hence only made 20s or so of errors, once by missing a path on Holme Hill and another by running into someone's driveway when approaching Dunblane Primary.

No GPS or HR data (given the fact that it REALLY doesn't like rain) so I made do with my £4.50 fake Casio retro watch (as recommended by Donald) and plotted my route on Memory Map afterwards. I'll be interested to see how that compares with people's measured data. TRIMP 95ish.
