Ran really well, apart from totally missing 28.
Sprint at Aranda Primary School. Started OK, overshot the turn to 2 but caught myself before it was too late. Nat got to 1 first, and her first loop was shorter so was ahead at the end of that. I think I caught back on the second loop but did not see her again. A bit sketchy in the pre-school with different scale, a few hesitations but nothing too bad. Had real trouble finding 23 on the map, and almost decided to go straight to 24 when I couldn't see it - 12 was common with 24 and 13 with 22, so it appeared there was a line 22-24! Finally worked it out (better than a few others) so got 23 but not optimal route. Then was nice downhill so planned through until 30, but somehow ran a bit hard and when I got to 27, followed a random line to 29. Did not realise until finish. Also a sub-optimal finish when I thought the last was at stairs top (it was bottom) so ran from top to bottom and returned to the top and sprinted to the start triangle, where surprisingly there was no finish punch. Asked out loud where the finish was and had to make my way back through the start and download areas to finish. All for the MP!

Aiming for an hour, but a sore hip (me) and sore calf (Nat) saw us walk back from Bindubi /Banjalong intersection. Not sure why GPS stopped even earlier than we did.

Zoo and Arboretum.
Long day yesterday and morning meeting cancelled so made sure to drag Nat out as we have been needing to do something like this for ages. Great ride, nice and flowy, and despite some superb downhills no real tough ups either.
Perfect day too.

A perfect example of why I shouldn’t go Orienteering while my head is trying to catch up on the day and what’s outstanding, still to be done.
Good to get out and do this, but what a disaster of a run. Having to go back to 1 to try and find 2 a good example of the whole run.

Tuesday Feb 25, 2020 #

A good confluence of circumstances saw Nat and I do the very radical thing of going bouldering on a Tuesday night after work. Actually, it was even just afternoon, and we went for dinner afterwards just to really enjoy the evening. Really enjoyed it, did not go too far out of comfort zone, finished on a high note. All good. BUT very stiff back on Wednesday, and then very sore muscles on Thursday. All recovered. by Friday :)
