Ski (Cross country) 28:01 [3] 1.28 km (21:57 / km) +6m 21:26 / km

Tried out the skate skis but decided we needed to stick with what we know so went and got yesterday's skis back.

Ski (Cross country) 1:25:34 [3] 8.73 km (9:48 / km) +216m 8:43 / km

Still got a lot of room for improvement. 3 route choice errors, I execution error. Did a lot of short cutting this year, it was not always a good choice :) worst example was ending upside down in a snowdrift!

Ski (Cross country) 2:32:38 [3] 5.78 km (26:23 / km) +84m 24:37 / km

Signed up for a lesson - well worth it! Hard work in the wet condition but learnt a lot.

Aoife and Lyra were done (and saturated) by the time we finished. Andy took them for hot choc while Alexa and I did a quick loop. We were hoping the girls would recover with a break but no luck so that was it for the day.

Ski 3:37:07 [3] 22.01 km (9:52 / km) +2089m 6:41 / km

An expensive half day with Aoife. It's been 2 years and our lack of practice was showing! Eventually made it over to Blue Cow and met up with Nat and Andy despite broken phones and us taking an age. Exciting times getting back to Perisher as Aoife kept getting blown down the wrong tracks. Getting back to turn offs was tough as she didn't have poles. One time, there was no way could I get her back to the turn. We had the option to contour along a drop off but she was petrified. In the end it was decided for us as she slipped over the edge m. She cope well, stayed upright and made it back down :)

Orienteering 40:03 [3] 5.41 km (7:24 / km) +109m 6:44 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Argghhh! I have been sitting here so pleased with myself all afternoon and now see the dnf! I missed the last 2 controls... bit of undy disease.

So, while having lunch I commented what a stunning day it was outside and how annoying its Wednesday (aka orienteering day). I had a teleconf at 1 so going out was not an option... Then Eoin looked up where the event was, Majura - west - Aspinall St, 5 min drive away! I bolted for a change of clothes, he dropped me at the start, which was actually only 1 min drive away and off I went. Ran under pressure knowing I have to be home in 45 min. Its good to run under pressure from time to time :) Got scrappy towards the end looking at my watch more than the map, and obviously looked so much at the watch did not notice controls 13 and 14. Annoying as did an OK time and all. Still, fabulous way to prepare myself for 3 hours on the phone. Super benefit of living in Canberra - I made it in the door at 12:59:45, perfect timing and fortunate I didn't get the extra controls!
