Run 53:40 [3] 7.01 km (7:39 / km) +259m 6:28 / km
shoes: Kayano - narrow ones

Late opportunity to get out. Beautiful on Mt Majura, poor track choice when I tried to take an old path directly up. Ended up in a section too steep to even run the contour. EventuLly made my way to the real track.

Running woefully need to improve somehow. Left leg quite dead, probably from Friday.

shoes: Sidi Road

Road loop around Mt Majura. Nice simple not too long, not too hilly. Good option for long overdue ride. Felt weak throughout but that's what you get from not training... new jacket great, new gloves ok, new toe covers not up to the job :(, should have worn a headband as well as ears frozen.

MTB 16:00 [3] 3.5 km (13.1 kph) +36m
shoes: Sidi MTB

Ride to orienteering, new jacket is fabulous despite the pinkness.

Orienteering 55:39 [3] 6.87 km (8:06 / km) +201m 7:04 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Shocker! I couldn't do anything right today. Some old guy who I don't know gave me some encouragement afterwards and said I'd work it all out before too long. Not likely given how little I've progressed in the last 20 years!

MTB 16:30 [3] 3.68 km (13.4 kph) +32m
shoes: Sidi MTB

Ride back home. Beautiful day out!

Loved this race - especially the start. Easy rock controls seemed to trouble others. I just had to be VERY careful in runners. Walked most of the first part but nailed it all. Was running OK (for me) through the course, but got thrown coming into map-flip by what I saw as a garden bed but not mapped as such. That then threw me so I made poor route choice and execution on next leg, poor route on following leg compounded by being under rather than on the bridge, still fuming, messed the next 2. By then it was well and truly over and I took a silly safe route to 3rd last, needed to recover more quickly and keep going for it after the mistakes. Feeling OK physically so happy with that. Again room to improve but I am just starting the recovery from past few months.
