Run from St Ives Wildflower Garden towards Bobbin Head (Warrimoo Track) with Paula and Tracy. Beautiful run but rugged going. Legs survived much better than expected. Quite a few steep pinches made the going tough.

First leg of the Sprints. Went OK apart from 7. Must have run straight over the top of it, wandered around the bush for a minute before coming back out to the track for a second attempt. Got it that time. Tired at the end.

Lost my head under the pressure of the chasing start but still managed to win the girls race which made up for the mistakes. Had James Lithgow breathing down my neck (10 sec) and Lisa Grant started 35 sec ahead. Misread description for 3 and lost time there (30 sec) letting James past. Trailed behind him slogging up to 6 and heard someone come charging from behind. Surprised to find out it was Lisa who'd lost time on 4. We were a bunch of headless chooks at 7 with Lisa coming away in front. I was straighter to 8 and caught up a bit and more to 9 where we both went too high. Neck & neck going to 10 but my bush-bash straight route backfired & I lost time again. Settled in for second place seeing no tricks from there to the finish. The wily old fox tactic paid off though when Lisa hesitated at 13 to plan her route to the last. I knew exactly where I was going & not only caught up the gap but got a jump on her. Miraculously made it to the last just in front and did a good sprint to get to the finish first!

Good course setting with the second race much harder than the first (from my perspective).

Mystery Run with Paula. Saw some recognisable sections from Summer series, Pennant Hills event, BigFoots 10 hills runs, interspersed with some sections that I've never seen before. GPS won't download so no idea really where I went. But it was fun, a nice run and my ankle held up well.

Run 48:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 14

Moonlight Madness. First time I've made it this year as Eoin's been away all the others. At Roseville so nice to run a bit locally, although it was probably a hindrance as I don't know that part too well and was jumping to conclusions about what on the map resembled the few bits in my head. Very out of practice and without planning made some bad route choices and also some horrific execution. 4 minutes late back so lost 40 points. Ran past a ton of controls just getting to the finish, it would probably have paid off getting them but Eoin & Aoife were waiting for me in the cold, dark park.

Run 40:00 [3] 6.5 km (6:09 / km)

Fairylands with Paula. A beautiful morning (again) spoilt by a bad ankle twist about half way around. Ended up sprawled across the ground and wimpering. The day got a lot colder after that and it took until evening for me to get brave enough for icing. Seems to have worked well, have gone from unable to weight bear without shoes to almost normal.
