Orienteering (Sprint Series) 16:49 [3] 3.0 km (5:36 / km)

Best course this season (according to me anyway). Lots of planning required & I managed this on most legs. Got caught out 12-13 and again 13-14. Wasted a bit of time looking at the map a few times but that was probably time well spent. Went the wrong (slow) ways to 4, 6, maybe 8, 13 and 14.

Running OK today, maybe I'm feeling better finally or maybe a 20 degree drop in temperature suits me.

A beautiful run with Paula and Tracy, from Roseville Bridge to St Ives showground.

Across the bridge and Davidson Park to begin and then around 9-10km of narrow path through magical forest alongside the creek. There were a few rock climbing manœuvres required when we lost the path. The forest ranged from open banksia/she-oak/eucalypt to rainforest. Lots of flowers still out too amazingly. This section finished with a run across flat sandstone platforms before we hit the firetrails. These were much more exposed (& hilly) and I started to feel the heat. Stayed relatively strong up the big hill but cracked about 3/4 of the way up and it was a massive slog from there to the showground. Endurance seems to be something to work on at the moment...

I am over the heatwave - it seems I cannot get a run finished without "blowing up".

A stunning run along the harbour from Sirius Cove to Clifton Gardens. The group was going to Middle Head but I turned around after 30 minutes (saving myself for keeping up with the Speedy Gonzales' tomorrow).

Humid, glad I finished before the sun hit.

A good session - probably one of the best I've ever done. Hard to tell whether its all that different or after 10 years of pilates I've learnt how to use some muscles properly.

Really enjoyed today's map and course but was unable to do it well. Started fine but ran out of steam at about 20 minutes in. From there to the finish was a struggle and consisted of lots of walks and cutting extra bits off my course. Could have scored more and risked being late but was too hot to do any extra. Got walloped by a load of people.

Meant to do a recovery jog but saw Paula coming into the park as I did. Was feeling OK (better than expected) so went to Porters Creek with her and struggled back again.

Walked all the way home from the park entrance.

Weighed myself afterwards, I appear to have lost over 2kg since this morning.
