Run hills 55:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:53 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 13

Apparently I told Andy I wanted to do a hills session today. Not sure where he got that idea from, but I went along as I should do something other than plod. I did 5 (he did 8) of the hill behind the conference centre. It was just over 250m.

First time I've had tired legs for a long time.

Cough fine today until about 4pm. Have decided not to do 2nd lot of antibiotics, I don't think they made any difference.

Run 1:30:00 [3] 13.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 13

A big group of Tracy, Jennycas, Alexa, Paula, Anthea, Marina, Cath & Andy (hoggster). Met at the Weir and did an anti clockwise loop to de Burgh's Bridge. Eoin & Nat met us at the park for a play and to save running back up the hill home - bonus!

Felt OK but was glad when a couple of others were dragging the chain :)

Walk (Mapping) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Free Run

Run warm up/down 5:00 [3] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 13

I was the late starter today so needed a warm up (to the toilets).

Orienteering 46:45 [3] 7.7 km (6:04 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 13

I was unlikely to go out today given my lack of lung function and the weather. But... being down by the water & seeing the map made me want to run. I went out after Eoin for a change and decided to take it very easy to avoid aggravating my cough/breathing.

Obviously running very easy is the secret as for once I ran less distance than Eoin and got quite a good score. I didn't make any major mistakes (over-ran 3 and stopped short for 2 was about it) and only walked up one hill. I even seemed to get most of the micro route-choices right for a change. That has to be luck. Maybe I should try this approach more often.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Very bad night and late Dr appointment so I took the day off. Started antibiotics.

Monday Jan 24, 2011 #

Run warm up/down 5:00 [3] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: DS Racer

Warm up only, warm down impossible

Orienteering (Sydney Sprint) 20:11 [3] 3.7 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: DS Racer

Nice fun area. Started reasonably, hesitation on 1, rough going to 2 (but these both probably the same for everyone). Lost a bit at 6 then again pulled up early at 8. From there had no lung capacity left and struggled to the finish. Even walked a couple of times.

3 weeks with the cold now. Will go to Dr tomorrow.
