Quite dark this morning, fortunate to know where to look out for fence wire and to have company through the tunnel.

Tried out the fabulous new IRocks that weren't quite as fabulous as I'd hoped. Managed to twist my ankle on the way to 1 and hobbled most of the day.

Was feeling very underpowered anyway so it did not make much difference. Nice to be out in the middle of the day!

Goorooyooroo a great place to visit, not overly technically challenging but enough to make life fun.

No idea of time or distance as had no watch and did not punch the start control. The stupid did not end there either, I was pretty distracted by the need to be elsewhere and did not really concentrate well, gradually getting worse the longer I spent out there.nEyesight becoming an issue, might need to find a way to wear glasses riding - not a fun prospect.

All I can say is well done orienteering for actually being organised! As opposed to swimming. I was informed while sitting in the car park before the start at Sparrow Hill that I was on timekeeping duty from 11am in Canberra. I had found out the day before that the timekeeping roster was posted on Facebook (of all places) and even though I'd read it and done a turn on Saturday, they updated it overnight, and added the update to the COMMENTS section, not even a new post... and added me to a shift; 3 hours before Aoife's only race of the day... Dummy spit over now :)
By the time I arrived I was excused so the was OK.

A longish run. The first half by myself and then with Nat. My vague plan to run home from coffee for a bit of extra distance was foiled by Aoife and Eoin arriving for coffee too. It was (I was) too cold to bother turning down the option of a lift home and running instead...

Feeling OK! Good to get out and done with before a day at the swimming pool.

Lunchtime O with the retired folk. Lovely out as the fog cleared as we were driving down. Wrong footwear choice for today, good learning that when its no pressure.

Nice to have a bit of a relaxing week this week. I should get a couple more before another round of frenetic activity. Celebrating 1 year of (relative) freedom this week too! I need to make sure I get out in the sunshine and appreciate it.

Big suffering today. Joined with another Mum who also runs from swimming, and met up with a friend of hers for 'a few Hill reps'. She’s a former world cross country runner (not as accommodating as Paula!) and her fried an ex pro cyclist. I have not run that hard for a long time, lucky they weren’t too fussed about leaving me wallowing in their wake. Also lucky the hill reps were just a few short sprints. Need to try to get my act together!

Tried new shoes in terrain. They are quite good but possible a bit high and risky for ankles... comfy though.

Still feeling unfit but added confused to the mix today.

Really struggled getting myself through the first few controls. By about 3 my head was working, but that was after some appalling controls before. Was with Tony Hill most of the course, he lead through to 5 then me to 9 and he disappeared from sight in the long run to finish...

Shoes likely to be retired after today. They’ve done well.

Ok run at Canberra Grammar. Pretty slow But a good course. Only a couple of serious mistakes, misread things going into 7 and ended up in a dead end. And heading to 14i took a turn too early. Worked it out pretty quickly.

Hard work trying To Guess which surfaces were slippy and which ok.

Feeling unfit.

Aoife and I spotted a control outside our house when we got home this afternoon so I looked up the details and sure enough, there was an event in aranda tonight - 6:15 mass start. I was keen to get out after sitting around at swimming all day...

So, we left violin at 5:55, drive straight to Guides (gotthere slightly late),I came straight back and was paying my $5 by 6:13. Thanks toShannon for filling in all the admin details!

Good fun, it made me run steadily, will take stronger lights if I ever manage to coordinate this again. Nice way to get to know the suburb better :)

I really like the setting style with allcontrols in street lights.

Teams race - team of Cath, Cath, Eoin and Aoife. Quite a fun event although I was running alone after falling off the back on the first hill. Tough going after a long-is day yesterday. Aoife did well on a pretty hard moderate course.
