Buffalo Creek - accompanying Aoife cycling. I'm only needed to start and for emergencies now. I managed to talk her through most of the emergencies and didn't need to catch or stop.... Even managed to get quite out of breath a couple of times.

As if I hadn't overcommitted my self already... Did 6 or so circuits around and around Waterloo Park with Aoife on her new bike as a warm up. Some bits were walking, some jogging and some flat out. Not too many scary moments which is a good sign.

3 out of 10 of the Bigfoot 10 hills run. I went a bit further than I should but it was fantastic: stunning day out and a stunning area to run through. Good company too, running a nice pace for me apart from the big uphill - Mike Burton, Andy S, Simon and Paula. I cut off and ran back down the Lane Cove Valley from just after Connemara Parkway. I was pleased to run all the way up from Brown's Waterhole to the underpass, walked a fair bit from there. The last few km were tough, mainly for my hip. Afterwards that is just a bit sore but I am totally shattered. I even bought a Coke, and a Golden Rough afterwards.

Super thanks to Mark for baby sitting!

Am going to need to muster up the energy to make Aoife's bed very soon...

Note

Survived!

Event seemed to go OK, biggest complaint was mind boggling.

Weather was sensational, relieved event was not today (Tuesday) as it is currently struggling to break 0deg at 11am!

Note

This CANNOT be for real. Yesterday's forecast for Otange predicted 10-20mm rain on Saturday, today it's up to 20-40mm. Would anyone like to place a bet it will go up to 40-80mm by Thursday?

PS access is fine, regardless...

Putting out controls. We're hoping the weather is like this next weekend - i.e warm, sunny and stunning. Saw some amazing rainbow shows between Bathurst and Lithgow, lucky Aoife wasn't in the car as we would have been searching for the pots of gold (could see the ends). I'm hoping the traffic improves and that I will be travelling earlier and I will not come via Katoomba next time...

Lane Cove river loop! 12 months since last time, very happy!

With Paula so good to chat and catch up.

Aoife's bike ride, patience wearing thin at the beginning. I was marginally pleased she only wanted to do one loop. She had a big stack just before coming up last hill but managed to get back on and ride quite happily after a short break.

At Centennial Park, mile behind everyone. A few problems locating the controls, especially at 10, and a lot of walking breaks slowed me down. Hip sore again, getting worse at the end.

Riverside track - all the way to Porter's Creek! I felt like I was actually running quite well and fitness was my limitation - had to pause for a few breathers... Hip a bit annoying at the e d and for afternoon, hopefully just a little niggle.
