Run 45:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Kayano 14 - Pink

A bit too dark & scary to head straight to the park so Subi streets then finished off in Kings Park. Lovely morning & sunrise, luckily since I forgot my gloves (its been too long since I've done a morning run).

Tuesday Jul 29, 2008 #

Cycling 1:10:00 [3] 33.0 km (28.3 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Resolved to get up early despite the forecast & weather conditions at bed time. Set out under beautiful clear skies and perfect temperatures. Eoin was pleased to note however that despite this I got rained on in Cottesloe & Mosman Park.
Sore back/shoulders is making hills difficult, knee is fine for cycling.

MTBO 1:00:00 [3] *** 15.0 km (15.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

DRYANDRA dnf'd the long course. I was riding very poorly today, just too tired. Made a few mistakes, but mostly from being a bit cautious, fell too many times to count on slippery logs. Started overshooting tracks more badly towards the end (I seem to have a slight problem with scale on this map!).

Cycling 2:10:00 [3] 66.5 km (30.7 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Shelley Loop. With Richard & felt unable to impress him with my new found strength because it was all I could do to hold on to his wheel most of the way. Managed to do a couple of turns now & then but completely blew up just as we got to UWA.
We were with the CRT group from Leighton to Majestic where Riders Choice caught us, not sure why they were so early today. It all got a bit messy there so we sat up a bit and did the rest mostly by ourselves.

Orienteering 1:25:03 [3] *** 11.0 km (7:44 / km)
shoes: Silva ProLite

DRYANDRA Not too bad to begin with, was running fairly slowly but consistently to begin with, happy with my concentration which has been lacking lately. Needed a loo stop on the way to 6 so managed to go way wrong before convincing myself to stop, wobbled a bit on 7 and 8 trying to make up time... From there was pretty clean but VERY tired. Fell on the way to the last control, my knee landed on a log and I have a badly bruised patella as a result and could only hobble to the finish.

Yoga 30:00 [1]

Physio cancelled so just a few quick exercises at home when I realised I wasn't going to get the chance for anything else today.

Saturday Jul 19, 2008 #

Cycling 2:09:00 [3] 66.0 km (30.7 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Shelley Loop. Was very tired & only did it because the Park St guys came past 50m before the turn home at Mt Henry. Kept up with Rider's Choice until 1/2 way along Mts Bay Rd (obviously Pete wasn't on the front of them today).

Friday Jul 18, 2008 #

Run 50:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:33 / km)
shoes: Kayano 14 - Pink

Run to pilates via wild stormy Kings Park then straight home after.

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

New physio - James - has been to the Kingsley & Ryan school of pain. Should work well.

Wednesday Jul 16, 2008 #

Sunday Jul 13, 2008 #

Orienteering 1:17:00 [3] 10.12 km (7:37 / km)
shoes: Silva ProLite

Yetar Springs. Great terrain and nice course. Thought I did OK (apart from the last control) but maybe I was just taking it a bit too easy. Quite a few bits of lost time being slow around the control & also getting through green bits.

Run (warm up/dpwn) 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Silva ProLite

MTB 34:00 [3] 6.4 km (11.3 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Went out to test out my new pedals on the Gorrie Rd loop. First time I have done this course & it was quite a nice loop. Lots of little excuses to get my feet out (mainly log overs) so got a lot of practice with the pedals. Still need a bit more to get the position right straight away but they are a big improvement on the old ones.

Saturday Jul 12, 2008 #

Cycling 2:08:00 [3] 66.0 km (30.9 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Shelley Loop. Great sunrise, nice day with rainbows but a bit wet in places. No Rider's Choice to tow me along, nor a domestique to tow today & I desperately needed them :( Very tired at the end.

Wednesday Jul 9, 2008 #

Cycling 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (24.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Cycling (windtrainer) 15:00 [3]
shoes: Track bike

Still desperate for some training time - just spinning to try and get the lactic out of my legs. Seems to have worked :) Intended to do more but fell back asleep after feeding Aoife so was late getting up and then I had to be a wimp & move the trainer under cover so I didn't get wet.

Pram run 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Kayano 14 - Pink

First time out with the pram since we both got sick. Perfect running weather.

Tuesday Jul 8, 2008 #

Cycling 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (24.0 kph)

Monday Jul 7, 2008 #

Cycling 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (24.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Logging a ride to work - obviously its getting desperate.

Sunday Jul 6, 2008 #

Orienteering 1:17:20 [3] *** 7.97 km (9:42 / km)
shoes: Silva ProLite

JFNP - did better than last year but only just. Well set event but a bit easy because the controls were on the very obvious features. Even so I managed to screw a few up - 1, 11, 12 and of course the last which was after I had stopped reading the map. Must admit that 12 wasn't all my fault as the circle was a bit off, but at least I didn't have to draw my own map so I'm not complaining.

MTB 1:15:00 [3] 18.5 km (14.8 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Saturday Jul 5, 2008 #

Cycling 2:13:00 [3] 66.0 km (29.8 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Around the river including Shelley Loop. My domestique got sick of sitting on my wheel on Melville Pde so by myself from then until Rider's Choice came past. Sat on the back of them until Riverside Dr - no-one told me about the sprint from there & I was stuck in my small chainring. Need to get the front derailleur seen to soon.

Hopefully the weather in Brittany is nicer than we had at the start but quite a lovely ride from Fremantle.

Thursday Jul 3, 2008 #

Cycling 1:20:00 [3] 40.0 km (30.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Around the river, was going to go straight to work but finished early enough to have a shower at home so got to ride up Mount St as well which killed my average.

Cycling 20:00 [2] 8.0 km (24.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

To work

Wednesday Jul 2, 2008 #

Cycling (windtrainer intervals) 48:00 [3]
shoes: Sidi Road

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 with 1 min recoveries
Road bike again because it was still there from yesterday.

Tuesday Jul 1, 2008 #

Cycling 23:00 [2] 10.0 km (26.1 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Went to do some efforts in Kings Park but my light failed in the darkest depths in the middle of the park so had to limp home slowly because I couldn't see a thing... (operator error in battery charging - the charger wasn't plugged in at the wall)

Cycling (windtrainer intervals) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Sidi Road

Came home & did some intervals instead.
1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1 with 1 min recoveries
(used road bike on wind trainer because it was 2° and my other shoes were still wet from Sunday)
