Run 51:05 [3] 6.93 km (7:22 / km) +178m 6:32 / km
shoes: Kayano (blue)

Eoin dropped me at the National Park and I ran up to West Pymble where he and Aoife did some netball practice. Pretty tired by the time I arrived. Some scary moments when the wind storm picked up - first time I've ever actually been scared during a storm.

Run 35:00 [3] 5.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Kayano (blue)

Went to intervals but being a bit cautious stuck with the more sedate runners. Did 4 short and 4 medium. Left my energy for the last and had a uphill sprint against Jo. I think I got there but it was close and no room for slacking off.

Feeling my age today. I knew I had to get up early to run before our first netball 'gala day'. When I woke up it was drizzling and my legs didn't feel like they'd recovered from yesterday's efforts so I stayed in bed. Still running very late for everything, topped off by leaving the team roster and player bibs at home (thanks Eoin for rescuing us). Had a 90 min window between getting home from netball and going to an afternoon strings concert so took my opportunity and tried to get the most out of it. The result was not pretty and I could barely walk when I got back home. The good news was I didn't fall over once. Then I sat in a very uncomfortable chair at school for another 90 minutes. There went the weekend...

Run with Tracy and Paula! Had trouble staying upright today -1ankle twist, 1 face plant and 1 narrowly avoided domino situation. Great to do the whole loop, tired towards the end and for the rest of the day.

MTBO 28:47 [3] 6.0 km (12.5 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Another disaster. Was reading the map quite well, but not the control sequence. After 3 went to 6 then 5, then looking for 6 realised my mistake and had to go to 4 then back to 5 and 6. Lost momentum after that. Another great day out despite my efforts. Definitely no spark left in legs. Need to do some more riding, its fun.

MTBO 1:20:00 [3] 20.0 km (15.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Well I was asking for trouble with tubes and no sealant and I got it. I have had a pretty unblemished run in racing without getting punctures. I've had many mechanicals, crashes and stupid moments but never a flat in MTB and only once I can really recall road racing. Today I got 4 and after the 4th there was no fixing it so I had a slow walk back and a good opportunity to appreciate the terrain even more. ( the day started badly when I tried to change tubes and realised I've been riding around with a spare 26" tube since I got the new bike....)
Fantastic riding, views and terrain to be in. Went quite well until 5 where I got the right tracks but was slow and uncertain. Still leading at 6 but had my first flat on the way to 7. Should have stopped and repumped after 7 but kept going. Took the single track after 8, then decided I didn't have enough air for that so turned back. Stupid move as it was longer and I rode over a rock getting out onto the main track and got another rear flat. Had to change tube which took forever. Saw Eoin going into 8 as I was finishing up. Saw him again as I was leaving 9 but then got a front flat. Stopped and reinflated that and was ready to go again as he came back out. Followed him out to the main road and 100m along I was flat again. Stopped, flicked a 'pebble' off the tyre and whoosh - it wasn't a pebble, 3 corner jack. Took the tube out, Nicole Haigh stopped and lent me some patches (I knew she had them after fixing her tyre on the start line). Then spent 5 min searching for the hole and couldn't find it! The fix only last another 100m so I gave up and walked back. To top it off GPS didn't work. Legs pretty tired riding today - a bit of a shock to the system 2 days running.

MTBO 1:04:56 [3] 12.5 km (11.6 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Aus MTBO at Alice Springs, great fun and so glad we decided to come. Great riding and scenery it's been way too long since I was in the desert. Legs ran our if muscles about 1/2 way around and I made a few mistakes but don't really care :)

MTB 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (12.0 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

My Alice Springs training... went up to Hornsby MTB trail for the first time as could not face Manly Dam with my back. Trail closed signs were up everywhere so just went for a ride on the firetrail and came back the only trail not signed closed. It looks like a fun track. Then rode some circles and figure 8's with Eoin and Aoife in the car park.

Tried to go for a daytime run while working from home but ended up having to walk back with a locked up back. Not a happy day. At least it was warm and sunny and the company good.
