Cycling 1:32:00 [3] 40.5 km (26.4 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

Its going to be a looong road back from here. Intended to go with Eoin's mates but decided I was having so much trouble getting to the station I had to do it alone. Tough (& silly) decision given the relentless head wind (that is ONE thing I'm not going to miss). The group didn't catch me so I still have a modicum of pride left.

Pram run 20:30 [3] 3.5 km (5:51 / km)
shoes: Kayano 15 new

Very poor route choices today. Had to stop to "put my cover down" 50m from the start so bolting out the nearest gate hadn't done me any good in terms of staying ahead of the pack after all. Had to resort to tripping up a 10 year old to get 2nd place in the end. The route was so bad I could have visited 1/2 the controls twice for only a 100m or so extra.

Orienteering 43:00 [3] 7.0 km (6:09 / km)
shoes: Kayano 15 new

Summer Series - Sydney style. A very hilly and precarious course. Twisted my ankle twice & failed to find one control (had trouble distinguishing between paths and cliffs in the green). Lots a heap of time there. Poor return to the finish - I was 90 sec early, had run past my first control and missed a possible 2 others. Had lost my pencil part way around the course so its doubtful I would have remembered the codes for many more controls anyway. Eoin whallopped me of course.

Cycling 25:00 [3] 9.0 km (21.6 kph)
shoes: Sidi Road

To Physio & work. The ride home was tough work, I had 67minutes between ringing Qantas from work and needing to get home, pack a bag, get to the airport and check in.

Pram run 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Kayano 15 new

Kings Park Metro Series them home. Took a very poor route trying to avoid the sand. It would have been quicker to walk through the short section than to tackle the hill & extra distance I chose instead.

Run 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Kayano 15 new

A run in Kings Park with Nat while Andy & Mum babysat. Almost just like old times. Fantastic to get out!

Run 12:00 [3] 2.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Kayano 15 new

Aborted run attempt - extremely frustrating especially after I told the physio everything was hunky dory after Saturday's efforts.

Orienteering (Metro Series) 18:00 [3] 3.2 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Kayano 15 new

With Aoife in the Pram. Felt OK but tough work across the boggy grass.
Shoulder now playing up again. Rest is not good for you.

Swim 30:00 [3] 1.0 km (30:00 / km)

Struggle today but had to do something to stay sane. Very sore arms, not even capable of a 100m warm-down. At least 25% breast stroke as well so I have 1 or 2 areas to improve on. I think the pool & I will be good friends for a bit.

Dunsborough - Cape Naturaliste
The usual Sunday at Dunsborough run with Richard, first time since 2006 and possible last for a while now. Set out with instructions for Eoin to come & pick us up in 70 min, if I'd had a phone we would have rung after 5 minutes to advise we might be a bit later :)
Further than I remembered and as hard work as ever after so long off and even longer since a decent run. Good conditions, cool with a tailwind and Bunker Bay was flat and firm. Really struggled at the end and walked at least 50% of the last bit of the climb from the top of the steep bit to the end. Had a couple of obligatry 'got a bit lost' episodes, one year we will do it cleanly.
Surprised (and pleased) we ran the same pace as the time I did it with Eoin in 2006.
