Legs completely destroyed from yesterday, hard to walk. Especially the downhills killed the quads.

Once more time for the Tällberg halfmarathon, second time for me, first time was 2012 last year I only ran the 10k.
The mountain king Jonas Buud was there this year also, he have 4 straight victories (and 8 straight Swiss Alpine victories which is held the weekend before). I know he is superb downhill runner and in my best days I should beat him on the uphills. Last time the downhills killed me and I was 2min behind on 73.5min. Warm and humid this year and I am not in as good shape as before so my aim was to go under 75min.
Jonas open hard and I had to on red already in the first uphill, no point to try to follow, aimed for the hill prize which I took and then let him and one other guy go. Tried to find a good flow and stay in it but never felt especially good. Saw the 2nd guy in front of me and lost more and more time, at the top of the second hill after about 14k it was about 40-50s to him. Tried to push in the downhill just to see if I could take anything, but nah. But suddenly after about 17k when we came out of the forest I was just some 15-20s behind. Turned out that he had bonked had to do a short stop in the forest. Pushed a little harder and passed him at 18k and he couldn't follow.
A new second place but didn't mange under 75min and 3min behind Jonas (impressive to run that course alone around 72min in the heat). Have to practice downhill running if I should have a chance in the future.

shoes: Airia One

Easy run with 5*1min higher speed to prepare for the weekend. Tested new shoes today Airia One (http://www.airiarunning.com/) which have soles solely made for running. Very interesting feeling running in them, especially in higher speed. Felt very natural running in them, but need to run more in them for more conclusions.

Back home again. Intervals at the lit track here. Still freaking hot with over 30 degrees when I went out after six in the evening. 1/2 lap - 2*1 lap - 1/2 lap. Long way to get out today and powerless once out. Nice to get some "hills" in for the race on Saturday, but think I have taken som water over my head with a hilly half-marathon.
