Chaotic start where I first was in the line for the toilet for about 15min. Came out and saw that my starting box was completely packed with people (was not in the super-elite). Started to try to get through but was so packed, and thought maybe a should be in the front box anyway? Jumped a fence out and another fence to get in there, but realized they had some other number bibs so guessed I shouldn't be there. In some way managed to get back to the other box this time from the front so ended up in the front row. Puh.. 5min to start, so crowded not possible to move, so the only warm up was the less than 2min jog from the toilet to the start..

Got a good start, the fastest ladies went away a little too fast for my taste but found some other guys that held a more appropriate pace. Settled in the back of a swiss guy who became my pacer from about 2km until the half-way passage. Really nice not have to take any wind. Took water after 5km, got a chock, freezing cold guess it had been outside during the night in temperatures below freezing... Took what I thought was going to be sports drink at the next control, turned at to be some fizzy drink with apple flavour. Not my choice while running..

Passed halfways according to plan, but here our nice group of about 5-6people started to loose pace, the 3 guys that had been in front most of the way slowed considerably. Between 20 to 25km I did most of the work on some windy parts and this was the second slowest 5km-segment. At 25km a german guy with good pace caught up and I could follow him (only one from our previous group) until about 34km, from there to the finish the though part for me started. The stomach had given up so couldn't take in any more energy and started to get some cramps in the groin and calves. But managed to not loose too much speed. Tried to catch some lady in the end but had nothing more to give, just satisfied to be able to move the whole way to the finish. Really nice to enter the Festhalle on the red carpet and see the finish!

Really satisfied with my race. I followed my tactic well and I think I got most of what I had in my body today out. Last 5km was really tough but still ok, some more 35km+ trainings probably needed for the endurance of legs and stomach..

Superb race with a good course and a lot of very loud crowds almost the whole way around, fantastic. Only downside was the freezing water and so called "sports drink" served.

Time to get moving again. Steady at Marathon pace, 2*3km + 2*1km with a pace increase the last 400m. Quite good, don't think the illness have made so much harm. 4days to go.
