Injury Update.
We (my foot and I) are currently 3 1/2 weeks since I started my return to running rehab routine. In theory I am able to "run" for 25 minutes with no pain. However, it is most definitely "run" and not run. This is because it order to run for longer than approx 7min I must change my stride pattern from something resembling a "floating feather" (P. Forsberg, 2011) to an undignified punter healstriking mess (possible exaggeration). Basically, provided I don't allow myself to push off from my toes really I can complete a 25 minute run. This issue was only noticed once I started to run for 4 minutes and take 1 minute off (Thursday 12/7) although it seemed to be more focussed onto the 2nd metatarsal, which then mixed with the 3rd on Monday (16/7) and today was exclusively focussed onto the 3rd. There is no pain at all once I have altered by stride pattern, there is no pain on a single leg squat, there is no pain on the calf raise (even if I roll to put my entire weight through the 3rd metatarsal). And yes - this Friday will be 19 weeks since the original break and 8 weeks since I got it rexrayed to discover it was still broken. Brilliant.
