Repeat of the latest session with Kelly.

Went for my usual neighborhood walk and managed to roll my ankle. I was walking on the softer ground next to the road but wasn't really paying attention to my feet. Not sure what happened, but my ankle gave out and I was on the ground. Pretty painful but I managed to limp home.

In the Wissahickon. Trails were in surprisingly good shape - I was expecting much more mud. Probably due to the fact that the temperature never got above freezing today.

strength & stretching 6:26 intensity: (8 @1) + (16 @2) + (4:22 @3) + (1:21 @4) + (19 @5) 0.08 mi (1:20:16 / mi)
ahr:124 max:166

Start of an old Kelly session focusing on lower body. I was interrupted by a tutor request - I volunteer with Upchieve, an on-line, on-demand tutoring service for underserved kids - and it was for pre-calc and those sessions are usually pretty good, with students that know what they're doing by and large and just need help to get started or to figure out where they went wrong. I wasn't expecting anyone to want tutoring on Christmas Eve day so I hadn't turned off my usual availability for Thursday mornings. Anyway, decided to tutor, figuring if someone wanted help today they were probably motivated.
1 PM

strength & stretching 19:11 intensity: (2:30 @0) + (12:02 @1) + (3:51 @2) + (48 @3) 0.46 mi (41:43 / mi)
ahr:90 max:125

And then the rest of the session after I finished tutoring. It was a great tutoring session, with a really enthusiastic student. I didn't start my watch right away so it was probably closer to 25 minutes.

walking 52:04 intensity: (11 @1) + (15:34 @2) + (31:49 @3) + (4:23 @4) + (7 @5) 3.1 mi (16:48 / mi) +81m 15:32 / mi
ahr:117 max:150

And then a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, again forgetting to start my watch until a little ways in. 60 degrees, with a light drizzle when I started but it stopped after a bit and was really nice. Grey and windy but warm and that felt great.

ahr:104 max:145

I wanted to go out for about 2 hours and just walk leisurely so decided to walk on Forbidden Drive. I thought it would be a little more ice free than it was - there were sections where you could walk on bare ground but many places had slushy footprints that had frozen - so slippery and very uneven. I didn't think I would need my spikes, but they might have been a better choice. Still, I got what I wanted and I'm glad I did that and not just walk around on the streets in the neighborhood which was my other choice.

It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow and get up into the 60's so I assume all the snow and ice will be gone soon.

ahr:120 max:154

Neighborhood loop. I generally like to do this after a strength workout, but I was on the phone way later than I expected and since I didn't want to walk in the dark I walked first.

The reason I was on the phone so long is that someone is using my name and address, and I assume my dob and ssn, to file for unemployment and open bank accounts. I got a letter from Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services saying my unemployment benefits due to the pandemic would be discontinued as of last week. So I had to file reports saying I never filed for unemployment and someone was using my name. Thank goodness they sent the letter to my address. I also received notices from two banks; the first from a branch of Bank of America in California which said they were not going to give me a deposit account because the Early Warning System indicated a high likelihood of fraud and the second from Sun Trust in Tennessee indicating they had instituted overdraft protection on two different accounts I had recently opened. So I had to call Sun Trust and get those accounts closed. Then I called EWS to find out what was going on and had to go through a long process to verify it was really me. They will be sending me a copy of my file. Then I called the credit bureaus to put fraud alerts on my account; so far there's been no attempt to open credit cards in my name but who knows what will be tried next.

I'm guessing this all stems from the Equifax security breach. It is very disconcerting to know my information is out there and people are buying it and trying to use it. As if I needed something else to stress about this year!

strength & stretching 33:06 intensity: (2:57 @2) + (22:00 @3) + (8:09 @4) 0.51 mi (1:04:53 / mi)

An arm intensive Kelly workout.

A slippery walk around the meadow loop. Didn't see a single person until I got back to the trailhead and was not paying attention and barely got my mask up in time.
