Not a good day. Liked the first half of the course but made a few errors. Left the trail at the wrong place at 2 and was in the wrong rocks for too long and then was a bit low on 5 until I sorted it out. Contoured around to 6 and I think that was a bad choice - I really was not a happy camper doing more side hilling through the rocky stuff. Should have climbed up and used the trail. My knees hurt enough by the end that I just couldn't run any of the easy downhill legs in the ski trails even when there were trails.

A bit discouraged with my fitness level.

Didn't really do a good job of taking splits but the Mountain Coaster was a blast. Full throttle all the way!

This was a tough day on my knees. Lots of side hilling and through kind of trashy stuff. Couldn't run at all. It was discouraging not to make any errors and still be so far behind. Ah well; I have let my fitness go a bit so I only have myself to blame.

Note

Drove up to NH a few days early.

My parents retired to Wolfeboro in the 1980's and then after my dad died and my mom moved to Manchester, my sister bought the condo. It has lots of great memories and a few sad ones as well. I haven't been here in probably 10 years and I had forgotten how really nice it is.

class at the gym plus the walk home since I forgot to stop my watch. Could tell I've been missing classes and not seeing the trainer - everything seemed much harder than usual. I also have a weird pulled something or other in my right hip - right on the front of the leg. It's irritated and sore and bending my leg very far is really uncomfortable. Wonder what I've done. it started when I rolled my ankle so I must have twisted funny as I fell but I would have thought it would have gone away by now. I'm using the tried and true method of ignoring it and hoping it fixes itself.
