Hike in the Wissahickon after a couple of hours of yard work (mostly feeding things I've trimmed over the last few weeks through the shredder). Glorious day.

orienteering race 1:23:16 [3]

Another fabulous course on a cool map. This time had some errors. AP says on #3 and 4 but that was just me being slow. Definitely a 3 minute error on #8 though. Something didn't look right as I climbed the hill so I thought I had left the trail early but I was really fine and would have hit the flag if I had just kept on my bearing but instead I "corrected" and it took me a few minutes to work it out. Everything else was just being slow again.

Part of the issue is seeing. My eyes tear like crazy and my reading glasses get tears on them and then I have to stop and wipe everything off to see what is going on.

But just loved the terrain again.

orienteering race 1:12:50 [3]

Brown course. Ha! AP says no errors and that's what it felt like. I hesitated a few times but just kept going and was fine. But I walked the whole way even on the trails and roads so not a particularly good time.

Loved the terrain. Really challenging and physical without being nasty or unpleasant - just really, really neat NE terrain: lots of small contours and big, really big, rocks. Had a lot of fun.

And UNO knows how to set up a great arena. Just a first class event all around.

Saw a beautiful red fox trot across my yard in the morning. This one looked healthy not like the mangy one that was hanging around a year or two ago.

Meadow loop with Sandy. Knee not good this week. I really hope it's temporary and that I can put off surgery. But I'm finding I need to wear my brace all the time these days.

And I have not been exercising much at all. Need to get into a better routine. Maybe I'll start mornings again.
