Note

And the Billygoat is over. Well, all but a whole bunch of paperwork and a few other odds and ends. The last finisher came in around 4pm and we had everything all cleaned up and left the park around 5.

Clem's courses were well received and he deserves a lot of credit for staying positive and focused and making the arena a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed a good portion of this, especially the time spent in the woods vetting controls and putting in stakes and hanging flags. (Although finding a whole bunch of ticks on me was not much fun!) And I really, really appreciated the number of people who made the time to come up and thank me today; it really made a huge difference.

Once again, I got pretty lucky with the weather. And a whole lot of people pitched in and helped make things go a lot more smoothly. I flubbed up a few things, and worried like crazy that other things would fall apart, but mostly everything worked out. I have a lot of good friends that kept me going.

Sandy called and suggested a hike and although my first thought was no, too much to do, I decided yes, it was a good idea to get out and do something. Too much sitting these days.
