Not training, but a long day setting up, doing epunch and then cleaning up. Enough help with pickup to make that go reasonably quickly which was nice.

Mostly people liked the courses although they found them very challenging. It is easy to lose contact and once you do it is very tough to relocate on this map.

Hickory Run:
1. (1 hr.) Checked out some controls in the camp area for the Night-O in September. I went to ask if it was okay for me to wander around the camp since another group had it reserved. I walked into the office and there are people in chain mail with wooden swords and fake beards. It turns out it was these guys:

The game master was very nice though and said I could walk around the camp area, especially because most people were still sleeping (it was 9:30) and I was only going to be about an hour. I had to wear a white head band though to indicate that I was OOG (out-of-game) and asked not to interact with anyone I saw (I didn't see a single person).

2. (2 hrs.) Checked out some more controls not in the camp area for the Night-O.

3. (2 hrs.) Met up with the Ahlswedes to put out controls for tomorrow's event. Did my loop and then schlepped water to two controls. I sure hope people come.

My feet are tired.

Putting the rest of the stakes out at Adams Creek. One two hour loop - again, surprised it went as quickly as it did - and one half hour out and back, moving a streamer that Clem and I disagreed about it. I still think I was right, but moving it was not a problem.

Saw lots of poison ivy again but washed down with Technu which worked reasonably well last time. I did get some from last Sunday's outing, but not too much.

It was the most humid out today of all the days I've been in the woods recently. Not that hot, but sweat just pouring off me the whole time.

Got to my digs just as the rain started - but it was just a light rain not the thunderstorms predicted and it has already stopped. Decided to splurge and am staying at the Inn at Hickory Run, a high-end bed and breakfast. Very comfy and nice amenities and it couldn't be any more convenient - closer to our staging area than even the campground I think. Pricey, but really, really nice.

Note

Wore my hiking boots and my ankle seems fine. Whew.

walking 20:00 [3]

TNT - started to hike with Bob and Sandy and about 10 minutes out, boom, ankle gave way and down I went. It's as if it just buckled on me. I turned around and went home and iced and wrapped it. It's a little tender but no swelling as yet. This was not in the plan.
