orienteering 56:34 [3]

Green course at DVOA event at Ft. Washington. What a treat - a park only 10 minutes away. Did the early shift on epunch and my toes got cold - took about half the course for them to warm up although I was overdressed on top. Reasonably clean - a few bobbles for maybe a couple minutes total, mostly due to tearing eyes and not wanting to stop to read the details on the map with the magnifier so just got sort of close and hoped I'd luck into the flag which mostly worked but not always. One not so good route choice through thick stuff. Ran as much as I could but it wasn't much. I hate how quickly I lose any fitness these days.

Note

Booked my flight to Germany. Decided to pay extra and fly non-stop from Philadelphia to Frankfurt. Reserved a rental car in Frankfurt a while ago. I think I'm all set. Except for the whole getting in shape part of things.

hiking 1:32:00 [3]

A nice hike in the Wissahickon after crossing off one more work project from the to-do list. This was excellent timing since the rain had stopped and the sun was out and it was gorgeous in the woods.

Note

Total fail at exercise this week. Stayed at work past 8 every night except Friday. But got a lot done that needed doing. A few more days and I'll be all caught up. And I'll get more sleep this week as well since it's spring break.

Won't be in great shape for the classic champs, but I should be well rested!

Note

Dennis and Emily now own a house up in the Allentown/Bethlehem area. I was not particularly thrilled about driving the large U-Haul van up there with some old furniture and boxes of thing they were temporarily storing at my house (thanks Sandy for helping me load the van), but it all went fine and I didn't hit anything. Whew.

And now I have a convenient stopover on my way to Hickory Run!
