orienteering 45:18 [3]

Brown course at the Pig. Some good legs and a couple not so good. Could see #3 but couldn't get there through the green crap - should have gone around. Not the best routes to #8 and #9. Then got within two feet of #10 and thought I looked over the edge of the earth bank far enough to see that there was no control there when in fact it was there which I discovered 6 minutes later when I came back...

hiking 1:27:05 [3]

Was thinking about going to Warwick but didn't get enough work done yesterday. Worked all morning but took a hike in the Wissahickon in the late afternoon. Saw lots of folks out there with a couple interesting ones. First was the guy in the meadows doing some sort of yoga routine - not so unusual I suppose but it was kind of neat the way I could see him silhouetted against the sky from a long way off. Next, in the meadows by the ball fields there was a film filming something. It looked to be a guy dressed all in black like a ninja warrior and a young girl dressed in a green sari looking thing and there were lights and cameras and a director shouting directions and all sorts of folks standing around. It was pretty cold out though so I didn't hang around to watch but just kept moving. Wonder what they were up to?

strength & stretching (pushups) 1 [3]

6 sets of 20, or maybe it was 7 sets. Lost track.

Note

Definitely a fox! This time I was sitting at my desk - monitoring the Ski-WOC results; Go Team USA!!! - and the fox came trotting slowly across my yard only 20 feet from the window.

Brown course at Norristown Farm Park. A new map, sort of like a small version of Fair Hill. I managed to botch an easy control; not sure it would have given me the win but it would have been close.
