trail 38:38 [3]

A different hill loop with bigger, better hills, but not any longer: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2806782

Had to walk for about 2 minutes after coming up the switchbacks on the horse stable side of my reentrant. Goal for the summer is to run this whole loop.

Felt pretty good - my knees were fine and there was actually some pep in my legs. Perhaps the ibuprofen I took earlier for a headache?

Worked on upper body strength by doing some yard work. Yay for classes being over!!

running 57:00 [3]

3 miles on the drive - a different, more legit, 3 miles - in a little under 32 plus the down and up.

Knees hurt a lot when I started but weren't too bad after a mile a so. The late lunch I ate was more of a problem for the whole run.

strength & stretching (core dvd) 40:00 [1]

Note

Gave and graded an exam today. The students did great - such a pleasure to teach an elective to majors!

Note

I was feeling despondent about not going to the team trials but in retrospect, the rain and the steepness and the long plane flights would probably not have been the best for my knees.

Unfortunately, my schedule is such that I won't be doing any more regular orienteering before Scotland - all DVOA events except the one I'm course setting conflict with other commitments. Bummer.
