map hiking 1:10:00 [1]

Picking up controls at Daniel Boone after working epunching for the event. Decided it was too hot to actually do the course....

map hiking 52:24 [1]

Hanging controls with Dasha at Fair Hill for some training. Jogged for the first control or two then just walked.

orienteering 1:03:33 [3] ***

DVOA training: Clem, Vadim, Eddie, Eric W, Dasha, me. Ran my green course from the Easter weekend at Fair Hill. Still not sure what the best routes are for a couple of the legs. Almost packed it in when the skies opened up (for the third time in the afternoon) and it got so dark I could barely read the map. But at that point I was at the farthest point on the course so figured I may as well finish. But lost most of my motivation to push hard.

Note

Picked a map case full of raspberries while the guys picked up controls. :)

trail 33:17 [3]

meadow trail loop; about 3 miles.

running 1:00:54 [3]

TNT Media - with Anne and Dasha. Started on our normal loop but we all wussed out and finished on the orange loop. Felt good for about the first half but faded toward the end. A nice mellow evening afterwards.

running 48:44 [3] 5.0 mi (9:45 / mi)

TNT - usual 5 mile route with Anne and Bob. Kept up for the first couple, they slowed down for the next couple and then they left me in the dust for the last. Splits: 442, 441, 438, 456 (had to retie my shoes), 442, 448, 511, 437, 522, 507.

warm up/cool down 22:00 [3]

jog down to the drive, hike the steep hill, jog the rest of the hill on the road

biking 1:05:00 [3]

Hill repeats on the mountain bike on Wises Mill Rd. (plus the ride there and back home). Thought 6 sounded like a good number when I started and as #5 was pretty easy but #6 was tough, decided 6 was indeed a good number. Here's the profile:
