trail 1:01:30 [3]

Tried out some new trails on the sides of the valley - found a very nice loop through the meadows. My legs were pretty tired out and I had to walk for a bit in a couple of places but I managed to keep my running pace (anyone else's jog) on all the uphills. Probably walked 5-6 minutes total on some flat sections and one downhill where I was afraid I'd turn an ankle since I was tired.

I wore my contacts which I usually only wear to orienteer. I've been having a lot of trouble with my eyes tearing so badly that I can't even see the trail (let alone read a map). The contacts made a difference; I guess they keep the wind and cold off the eyeball. It sounds bizarre, but if it works, it works!

running 1:20:46 [3]

10 mins to jog down, 5 miles along Forbidden Dr. at about 10 min/mi pace, 20 minutes walking home the long way through the woods. Felt very slow and sluggish and legs hurt by the end of the five miles. Kept thinking about cutting it short, but stuck with the original plan to do 5. We'll see how sore my knees are tomorrow!

running 50:00 [3]

3 miles on Forbidden Drive (29 minutes) andslow jog down and back home. The Drive was great today - most of the snow and ice is gone, but the ground is very wet so springy and soft. Enjoyed the running but it was hard work. Too little training lately and too much going out to eat (work related).

running 55:00 [3]

Normal 3 miles down on the gravel path by the creek at a little under 10 minute pace plus the 10 minute jog down and 15 minute walk home. Felt pretty good, took it easy and calf felt fine. (Resting it was probably key - it hurt pretty badly Friday and Saturday, but much improved Sunday and just a twinge yesterday.) About half the width of the main wide trail is snow free; the steep trails to get down and home though are another story!
