Parked at Crane Gate and ran to the Blazer start. Stu Lynch rode past as I was getting out of the car so ran/rode together.

Run - Off road race (Blaise Blazer) 22:50 [5] 5.8 km (3:56 / km) +142m 3:30 / km
shoes: inov-8 Trailroc 235

Race 2 of the year. Joined Duncan and Stu at the front and we quickly took the lead across the grass and down to the mill. Ran shoulder to shoulder with Duncan until he decided to do a Keith on the first little offroad downhill and i had to work hard to stay with him. Ran together for a while longer until he began to pull away up the middle hill. Tried to catch him across the grass field but didn't quite manage it an he pulled away again up the final hill. Stu had managed to catch up with me as we reached the top and made his move but I managed to out sprint him and took 2nd place. Bottle of wine for the wife.

Very happy to record a new pb by 9 seconds. Last set in Aug 2010 pre children and mid marathon training.

Wearing my BOK vest and Duncan in his UBOC shirt, we had several comments at the finish from other runners along the lines "isn't orienteering about walking? How come you run so fast?"

Good to see Michael Hallett running strong in his first Blazer.

Orienteering race (Harvester) 1:05:00 [4] 9.4 km (6:55 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Oroc 340

Longmoor Camp. Leg 6, 6.5km.

Big boo. I lost the 16 minute lead that everyone else had worked hard to give me. Went out in 1st place with 16 mins in the bank, came back in 4th and 7 mins behind the leaders.

We'll never know but I think BOK would have won, we had a proper lead at the end of leg 5. Sorry everyone. I just can't be trusted.

Garmin says 6 mins of not moving.

Run - Road 29:30 [3] 6.7 km (4:24 / km) +39m 4:17 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Road X-treme 138

Haven't been feeling 100% for the last 24 hours so missed BMF last night. Feeling ok by lunchtime so took the opportunity test the new road shoes.

Circumnavigated Clevedon. Not a bad little circuit, if you like running alongside busy roads, the seafront, shops, and up and down a bit of a hill.

Kept it under 30 mins saving my energy for the big H tomorrow night/Sunday morning.

Run - Terrain race (Beacon Batch fell race) 35:30 [5] 8.4 km (4:14 / km) +266m 3:39 / km
shoes: inov-8 Trailroc 235

My first time at this race. Quite excited about it. Lots of fun, but a tough race.

Was jostling for 3rd place all the way up, unable to break away from the guy I was with. Stu Lynch and the winner were gradually pulling away from us. Got to the summit and glanced over my shoulder and saw Ben M rapidly gaining on me. I finally managed to get into 3rd and get a decent pace along the top and stayed in this position down to the finish. Ben came in 4th with Ben Kelsey in 6th, and Keith wasn't far behind that. Shame Keith can't run as fast on the ups and flats as he does on the downs.

A good night for BOK with me taking 3rd, and me & the Bens taking the top club prize. Brilliant reaction from Weston AC who thought they'd won the team prize.
