Day 6, Coulmony.

Long one. Tough going. Cant say I enjoyed the format much, went through everyone I caught on running speed so doing all my own nav until after the spectator when got mentally tired and started making lots of mistakes.

To be honest, I thought it was shit. Waste of the last day.

Body fine at end, mind pretty tired though.

Cant be arsed to look at results, fiarly irrelevant.

Enjoyed the week mostly though, minus Culbin and the last day. Basic fitness is good but my terrain running is not. Can still pull out some respectable results but if I wanted to do any better would need to apply myslef a lot more to certain areas. Will stick to what I enjoy most:

Back tot eh fells!

Day 5, Roseisle.

I liked it. Easy underfoot, legs feeling better, mind working. All fun. Made a few errors but compass direction was good and found the flags quickly.

Best day, best result 7th.

Day 4, Loch of Boath.

Tracked up so much. Very easy first 3 beofre bad direction out of 3 cost me almost a minute. Better from here, running feeling hard work though. Caught a few Euromeeters but my 2 min Norwegian man caught me en route to 14. Strong bastard went past and hung on to the end.

46th out of 150, 5 mins down!

Day 3. Culbin. And not sexy Culbin either. Its hairier, rougher, older sister.

Shocking. Slow start, missed 3, then was halfway between 6 and 7 on way to 5. Still cant work out what I was thinking. Inexplicable. Then overshot 8. 10 mins down t pan already.

Added insult to injury by ripping a lense out on way to 10. Arse, can't see the floor and cant see the map without stopping near enough dead. Rest of course is a cautious amble around which was compounded with big misses at 22 and 25. Bad day all round, not a happy boy. Tired too. Rest day needed!

Day 2, another flat area Carse of Ardesier or something.

Legs still struggling from Saturday. Late start tracked up so v straightforward Oing til i dicked up 7 by nearly a minute. Caught Wyber after this and had a good train with him and Ian the Aussie JWOCer until the end which ramped up the pace and was very enjoyable. Started to click at times, but lost another minute at 12 thru shocking compass work. Put some good legs togetther once I hit the front after 20. Got in ahead of HWW and Ian ;)

Flag chasing Day 1. Lossie.

Classic area, with classic Rhys mistakes. Slow start, not looking at map much as looked easy. It was, which made the cockups more annoying. In 72nd after control 4. Got it together a bit more, until dicking around with Lewis T at 13, Tullie caught us and I basically chased him to the finish. A timely reminder of how to navigate and what speeds you need to be doing to do well in the big boys league.

24th (after being in 38th when Tullie creamed past)

Running 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Warmiong up. Warm down no time! Off to Scotland.
1 PM

Fell Race (Blisco Dash) 39:51 [4] 4.08 mi (9:46 / mi) +584m 6:46 / mi
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212 Pair 6!

British/English Champs round 4. Short.

Hot day so wore nothing but shorts and shoes. Went out quick along road but careful not to overdo it before the real work began. Pace was high but cut through people once we hit the rough path and the steep section. Took Darren K at the top of steep section to enter 7th. Held this whilst trying to reel in Lloyd who seemed to pull away at the top. Descent wasnt very good in speed but lines were fine mostly. Darren got away after reentering the steep section and Jim Davies passed me at the stream but managed to dig deep and re pass him and an injured Morgz along the road.

8th place, 7th in English. Best short race result in Champs so happy.

Ran tactically very well, pushed at hard the right times. Hard to see how I couldve done better today. Happy.
