Had to plan a route to come back to the hash house for sleep. This was a bit of a challenge on this map and not at all the most efficient way of doing things. This half of the race was reasonably good for about 9 hours when we picked up most of our points. Then it was a bit of a useless road bash back via a few low pointers. Reasonable good navigation although I was suckered into getting a few 20pointers and a 50pointer that werea waste of time and energy.
My feet were starting to hurt quite badly by the time we got back so I was glad for the rest. Arrived back to see the other mixed junior teams look smashed at the hash house. Other than them the place seemed to be deserted.
Felt great to do some intervals again, some real training! On track for nationals now...lots of room for improvement...Although it looks like the first race I do in about 5months will be nationals so it might be interesting. Really enjoying training at the moment though.
Run up mt thomas. Wooded gully track on the way up and then down through the pine forest. Really nice run, not too steep and a good fast downhill. Windy on top so didnt hang around long.
