Warm up for the orienteering race.

Orienteering (Race) 43:13 [4] 3.7 km (11:41 / km)

Orienteering race at Thetis Lake on Vancouver Island. Had a great race until control 10. Lost around 5 minutes.

Orienteering (Training) 1:00:00 [2] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)

Orienteering training with Magnus and Lehel at Thetis Lake after the race. We ran the course in reverse order.

Easy trail run with Lehel in Lighthouse Park.

Thursday Mar 18, 2004 #

Warm up and cool down for the 5K race at UBC. Did 6 strides as part of warm up.

Running (Race) 16:00 [4] 4.5 km (3:33 / km)

5K race on the UBC campus. We ran the usual loop. Tied third place with Bruce.

Running (Warm up / Cool down) 1:10:00 [2] 8.3 km (8:26 / km)

Warm up and cool down for the track session with Lehel.

Intervals (300, 500) 13:00 [5] 4.7 km (2:46 / km)

Did 4.5 times 300 m run, 100 m slow, 500 run, 2.5 min rest. Lehel did one 8000 m interval. I accompanied him on the last 1200 meters.

Strength exercices. Did stomach and knee muscles mainly.

Warm up and cool down for the interval session with Lehel. We ran on the track close to BC Children's Hospital. We did 8 strides in the warm up as well.

Intervals (1000) 27:20 [5] 8.0 km (3:25 / km)

We did 8 by 1000 m at 3:25 min each. I was having a hard time on the last 3 or so. I think it is the end of the sickness.

Monday Mar 15, 2004 #

Running 15:00 [2] 3.5 km (4:17 / km)

Ran a short loop to see how I was feeling. I think I'm over the sickness.

Orienteering 40:00 [4] 5.5 km (7:16 / km)

WET 25 at Acadia Residences. Great course set by Bob Lee. Something got screwed up with the scale so the course ws only 2.7 km long instead of 5.5 km. When I finished I ran the other fork.
